I don't make clothes......

I don't make clothes - not unless you count a Dorothy costume (which I don't) ....I bought a pattern online a couple of weeks ago ...and today was the day to bight the bullet and get started........So................
(drum roll.......) I give you, my version of the Woodland Stroll Cape by Liesl & Co.....

Still needing some buttons or toggles or something, but finished for now.....I know it's a simple pattern, but I am pretty pleased with myself! The fabric is a woven wool blend and I could have done a better job of matching the checks on the sleeves, but all in all I don't think it's a bad effort.....for someone who doesn't make clothes :)  I see a bit of over zealous pressing has put a few creases there on the right hand side, but that's not too hard to deal with!  I think this will come in very handy for winter this year......

so that was today's effort......a couple of weeks ago it was my turn to make for Teresa's birthday in our online group......the brief was a scissor fob.....not something I have made really, so I used a pattern from Marg Low and a little stitchery from Anni Downs to make two little fobs........

Always fun to make for birthdays - I love birthdays!

This table runner was a gift for a friend....I was lucky enough to receive a red and white version of this for Christmas and realised I already had the pattern, so made this version which I really enjoyed  ......I see more of these in my future! And most things I am making at the moment are from my stash....still a decent amount left to work with!

Last weekend I spent Saturday with the girls and started this little Gail Pan gem.....watch this space for something from Gail coming up soon......

Joyce was working on a little purse made out of a zip and a strip of fabric....

well, that's what it looks like until you do the zip up and get this....

Very, very cute....sorry, I don't have the name of the pattern :( the girls bought it as a kit from the quilt show here in Adelaide last year.......

And yesterday when I spent the day with the NTFW girls I started this stitchery from Kathy Schmitz....

As usual it was a laugh a minute with the girls.....and if anyone is wondering why Shay hasn't blogged for a while - she said she hasn't got anything much to say - pffffffft....whatever!

Speaking of things to say, I am about done...as usual I have left this until late Sunday afternoon and still have a few things to do to get ready for the working week.  This year is just flying by....can't believe we are halfway through March already....!!!  It will soon be time to break out the Easter eggs......oh....ok.....it's done already....

I am putting it out there, the next thing on my "out of my comfort zone list" is a weekender bag......I don't make bags (or clothes!).....watch this space!

'til next time.....................Lorraine

Your cape is brilliant and it will ward off the cooler weather for you. Well done. You will make more clothes now! Your runner is lovely and so are the fobs and holder. Good on you Loz!

I love your cape - it's turned out so well! Also love the table runner you made (it's a great pattern) - I received one a couple of Christmases ago too. I started a "Weekender Bag" last year when I visited the Tassie girls - haven't touched it since. Maybe you will inspire me.

If you can make a cape then a bag will be a piece of cake.
