You may remember me saying I had to call in to the fabric shop for some retail therapy on Monday.........here are a few of the fabrics I bought home (prince if you are reading this LOOK AWAY NOW)...LOL......I am working a bit outside my comfort zone with the design and the fabrics..........which is fun.............
Here is a bit of the design I drew up the other night......which is really not much like what I have finsihed up with.....but that is what it's all about isn't it??? The basic elements are there but I have changed things as I have gone along and have enjoyed the experience!
Here is a sneak peek of the project to date......................
My swap partner doesn't like the colour................ha ....... as if I am going to say it...........that would give the game away wouldn't it......? so I haven't included much of that colour............some but not much............I hope he/she likes it.....I have certainly had fun making it.....although it's not finished yet and it may change again after I have played with it some more.......I have spent the day cleaning house.....eeeeeuuuuuw.......and everytime I walk past the sewing room door it beckons to me to come in and play..............later........!!
This being at home all day is weird.....how quickly does the time go....no sooner than I have been to the shops, put away the shopping, put something on for tea in the wonderful-couldn't-be-without-it slow cooker, cleaned a couple of rooms, put on a load of washing.......than it's lunch time.......more cleaning......quick check of the emails ....couple of phone calls for help..........no I didn't get my finger stuck in the washing machine filter or anything...these were phone calls TO me for help......and the afternoon is all but gone........yikes.....!!!
Its funny how the light at different times of the day shows up all the "cobbies" and dust that you don't see at night when you crawl in from work.....ack....cobbies everywhere and how long is it since I have cleaned around the knobs on the stove....not just wiped....really cleaned....it's been a while I think.....lint filter in the washing machine....clean.......soap scum under the washing machine lid....gone........LOL
Dust....it is insidious......its everywhere......I'm not looking tomorrow - going to close my eyes and go straight to the sewing room and I am going to stay there all day......that's if I don't break a leg or something tripping over something because I have my eyes closed!
Chelsea loves me being home.....she has become an inside all day dog.....I have to prise her out of her chair to get her out...unless I go via the kitchen and she hears the cupboard door open....food......!!! she moves pretty quickly then.
Speaking of food....time I was putting the finishing touches to dinner......you never know the prince and Mark may get used to lovely cooked dinners when they arrive home from work and I can retire.......Ha......although I don't think I am ready for that - I enjoy my job too much and we owe way too much on the mortgage!!
'Til next time............................Lorraine

The dreaded cleaning! At least when it's done...it's generally over for a little while! I am glad you are planning on a nice day tomorrow in your sewing room. Gotta love those slow cookers! Jo x
Hey Lorraine! Dust is a four letter word in our house! The only rule is, if you really MUST write in the dust, don't DATE it!! Tee! Hee! Hee! Hope you enjoy playing in the sewing room. Hmmm, I reckon your swap partner doesn't like either blue or gree, as there's only a few green spots and a little bit of blue ... maybe I could be a defective ... I mean Detective! :0) Bear Hugs! What an interesting project your making there. I wanna see it finished!!!
Love my crock pot/slow cooker too. I could cook in it everyday.
Leave the cleaning and get in there and sew!!!
"Coobies"...that's the term my great Auntie Georgia use to say. I vote more sewing and less cleaning during your time off work.
I like your project!

don't you love the feeling of leaving something sparkly clean. the other day i really cleaned out our computer keyboard and now everytime i sit down to type i'm amazed at how beautifully clean it is. course it helps that i've been slack lately so you can really see the difference! lol and yes, you are right - the different light does highlight a lot of things.
enjoy the rest of your holidays may there be more sewing and less cleaning.
