Deliveries......

It has been the week for deliveries.....a parcel from Carey with the fabulous book I won in a giveaway on her site.......along with three fat quarters which are just beautiful....Thank you Carey!
In a previous post I told you we had bought a new lounge suite......the delivery date was set for the end of May and then "blew out" to the second week in June....no biggie.....we were just pleased to have found what we wanted.....last week someone from the store phoned to say it would be delivered this week...so yesterday was the day....

Monday night we (the prince, Mark and I with some help from Terri) tried to get the old lounge out.....it wasn't going without a struggle.......obviously we had got it in there when we moved into the house several years ago...we think perhaps the removalist did it because there was no way that lounge was going out that door !! The prince resorted to this: (yes that is a saw you see....!)
(and there were those among you who wondered why I was hesitant to let him "fix" the computer!) .....The three seater promptly became a 2 seater + a 1 seater and behold it was out the door!! LOL ....

I came home from work to let the delivery guys in: (I could say I blurred the photo deliberately to "protect" their identity.....truth is they moved as I was taking it!!)

.....and they did a great job of getting the lounges safely into the room.....When I left to go back to work it looked like there were two giant "pressies" sitting there....

Chelsea checked them out and was unimpressed!

I had yoga after work and by the time I got back the prince was home and we set about unwrapping/unpacking the "parcels"....... I loved the big references to scissors and blades not being an option for removing the plastic!! the prince did take up the scissors at one stage to remove some stubborn tape but it was under close supervison ... LOL
....Even though Chelsea had been unimpressed with the new furniture Mark was pretty impressed with it when he came home from footy training later in the evening (and he doesn't read my blog so I can get away with putting his photo in!!)

Soooooo much more comfortable to sit in and a little more attractive than the old lounge ...... as one of my friends put it: "well it does hold a lot of memories.....of really bad '80's fabric" ..... ....oooooh not nice!! I haven't finished the new cushions yet...... but (changing the subject) .....I have chosen the pattern for my ALQS quilt and will get started on that this weekend......and I have also signed up for the cyber stitching day at Mrs Martins.......and a quilt challenge with Kerry ..... and a friend (whose birthday is fast approaching) has put out hints for some cushions for her lounge.....so no rest for the wicked!! I am off downstairs now to put the applique pieces on the Emmy's Braid quilt ready to stitch.. I will post a photo of the finished top after the weekend....May even catch a couple of hours sleep at some stage.....!
'Til next time............................................Lorraine

Oh dear, I have just been laughing my head off. I thought I had a great day, but I think yours tops it off. I am still laughing at the sight of the saw in the couch. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Men.. how could we live without them. Thanks for sharing, I'm still laughing. Lenora x.

Hey Lorraine! We must all be nesting for winter with furniture rearranging and painting! Moving furniture can be a headache, can't it? We bought a new fridge recently and it wouldn't fit through the back door, so we had to take it out the side gate (corner house block!) along the footpath, in the front gate, up the front steps, to get it in the front door - where it JUST fitted. And it was a tight squeeze up the hallway!! Oh dear!! Dramas! Tee! Hee! Hee! Enjoy the lounge! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

great lounge. your son looks very comfortable in it.
i had the same problem with my couch when we had a new one delivered. my sister and i had such a hard time getting it out - it was weird really as i know that someone got it in the room in the first place. eventually we did it though but i think we nearly wet ourselves doing it - it was really quite funny.
goodluck with all your projects.

Glad you didn't have to take the saw to the new lounge to get it in. I'm thinking about the cyber stitch got lots to do at the moment. Funny how a teenage boy can make a new lounge look untidy LOL
