Cyber Stitching progress and Finish Five Challenge...

......some of you girls are impatient!! I stitched last night and then today had to tackle some housework before I could retire to the sewing room and computer...........Peg I loved your photos on your cyber stitching day and I am hoping to get a group of girls together for the November event...... keep the date free girls............

Here I was all set to stitch last night.................at 8.30pm......

and a bit later...................I believe it was about 12.15am................

..........today I have quilted the wallhanging and it is ready for the binding which I hope to stitch on once I have finished this post.....I decided against putting the buttons on....may still do a row of hand quilting in the cream borders......my sewing machine is going away for a well earned holiday (aka overdue service!) tomorrow so I will be restricted to hand sewing until I get it back.....

Now for the "Finish Five by the end of July" challenge...............and especially Stina.....who was asking where my pics were......(not all of us have 24 hour daylight... LOL) here are my projects which I am going to finish by the end of July........well, that's the plan........Peg is there a "punishment" for those of us who "fail" .....LOL.......I know some of these are smaller projects but I think I will be doing well if I can get these finished...........I had some trouble finding five unfinished things........I had way more than that to choose from...................Anyhoo here they are:

(1) This little quilt was started at Loxton in July last year.....a Leanne Beasley design......I think I haven't finished it to date because it turned out way too pink and I was a bit disappointed with it.....so it got put to one side.....but have decided to add loads of green and maybe do some stitching in green in the lighter borders (which you can't really see here).....

(2) This is probably cheating a bit because I have to have this pincushion finished to send away in a week or so for the pincushion swap with Linda........but it still has to be finished.....so I am counting it.......

(3) My Emmys Braids quilt from a class earlier in the year at The Patchwork Apple.......again I lost some of my drive to finish this because I couldn't decide if I would stay with the white on white applique strips or go with a pale green.....so while I was waiting for the green fabric to arrive........well you know the story - nothing has happened! But that is about to change.....

(4) Another little quilt this time from Natalie at Cinderberry Stiches.....the stitching is all done.....just needs to be quilted and bound.......I do have an excuse for the "non finishing" of this one......I loaned it to Jane at the Patchwork Apple as a sample for her shop.......but I have had it back for a while now.....

And finally.........

(5) This is yet another stitchery quilt - and another from Natalie at Cinderberry Stiches.....again all done except for the quilting and binding.....you see I love to do sticheries.....and have loads of them finished but not finished if you know what I mean......

When I get these done I might add a few more for good measure......LOL..............so watch this space for the finished items...............in no particular order....

Oh I almost forgot.......the reason I wasn't home stitching all day yesterday is because we went to watch Rhiannon play netball in the city............here she is looking all worried......but she need not have looked that worried as the team won - it is really hard to get good shots when they are on court and I had to make sure she didn't see me taking photos or I would have got "the look"....and not the worried one either!

So that was the weekend.....I am not talking about footy tipping because my tips for this week were pretty awful!! Have had a reasonable season up until this week........it is the main topic of conversation at work on a Monday morning in the kitchen as we all make our first coffee for the day.........I will be making mine early and retiring to my desk!!

Have a good week.......

'Til next time..........................Lorraine

Hey Lorraine! Easy to see you didn't get much sleep last night for stitching! Tee! Hee! Hee! The projects your finishing for the challenge are fab, especially liking the Cinderberry stitcheries. I'm not nominating which five projects - there are so many different types in various stages of completion that I will just see where the wind takes me - as long as I cross five off the "To Do" list, I'll feel I've lived up to the challenge - no more chickens! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Hi Lorraine! Love the idea of more green in 'Friendship's Basket. Don't forget you can add the green in with leaves around the flowers and maybe even add in a stripe of green ric rac on the basket. If you want to wait bring it all to Loxton again this year and we can play with it at lunchtime or after class.

I think you are fired up and ready for the challenge!! Good on you!! I really love Cinderberry stitches designs. Natalie would be my favourite designer I think. I opened my cyber stitching package today as I have been away on holidays for 2 weeks and I was so wrapped with the new book from Hatched and patched. Can't wait to get happening with it all. Jo x
