Loxton was great in 2008!

Sorry Sue and Amanda! Couldn't come up with anything that summed it up better!

Got back from Loxton yesterday and spent some time (quite a bit of time) unpacking the car....why is there always more stuff to unpack than to pack......simple answer ......I spent three days in a quilt shop.....!!!

...then did some house hold chores so I could spend today in the sewing room.......

At the outset I have to say thank you to Tricia from Almond Grove Crafts for hosting the workshop - it isn't easy to organise these things and thanks also to Ann and Liz and Mark (and everyone else who helped to make it the great time that it was) - for a fantastic three days! I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves...I know I did! Thanks also to the girls......Leanne, Rosalie, Gail and Viv (no blog) who taught at the workshops and also provided some comic relief from time to time!

It is nice to be home again and I have been catching up on some emails and reading blogs this morning but I intend to get into the sewing room asap and unpack properly and finish a couple of the projects I started while I was in Loxton.......back to work tomorrow.........!!!

Why is it that something you look forward to for so long can be over so quickly????...........but as the saying goes...don't be sad that it is over....be glad that it happened! (or words to that effect!)

I didn't take a lot of photos....was busy sewing....gabbing......eating....laughing.......did I say gabbing.....??? but.....here are a few pics......

Tricia surprised the tutors with the gift of a quilt each - to be signed by everyone who attended.....Surprise!!!

I was in Leanne's class for the first day.......Loxton Vines quilt..... nice to see someone happy in their work!

Concentration plus as Amanda and Sue (no blog) work on their Loxton Vines quilt.....Amanda chose black and white fabrics with a bright pink for the vines....which was looking stunning...check out her blog for the finished quilt - I am sure it will be there soon!!!!....she may even post photos of Sue's quilt when it is finished! (she is going to quilt it for her too!) Good incentive to finish I would say!

Some Saturday late afternoon frivolity......Tricia, Meg (I hope Meg comes out of her shell - she is a bit quiet!)...and Viv....this pic also gives a peek at some of the goodies in the shop......

This dolly had just had her shoes painted and they were drying.....not the most elegant pose!!!

....but wait there were more!

....Day two was spent with Gail and Viv........both had great projects and I can't wait to get some more stitching done on Viv's fabulous sampler.......also in the photo is Gail's project for the day....I made the bag because I haven't made many and wanted to make one "under supervision" if you like..!

I finished the bag....minus the stitchery...and it was perfect to take back to the hotel room that night to put my "homework" in......oh it just needs some cord in the little loops.....


I had some serious "camera envy" goin' on.....Amanda and Gail with theirs.................

We quilters will go to any lengths to get to a workshop......and a broken foot wasn't stopping Kerry.....who travelled down with the Roxby Girls....and organised the jackets for the weekend...thanks Kerry! Hope the cast (nice colour!) isn't giving you too much trouble! It was great to catch up with you again this year.....

Day three saw me in Rosalie's doll class.......had a great time and learned a really good method for turning arms and legs.....and stuffing them!!! .....Rosalie also passed on some great tips for putting on the doll's face.........another interesting thing when making a doll - which obviously requires stitching and the sticking in of needles.......we were assured by Rosalie that the doll has no feeling until the whites of her eyes are done.....which makes me feel a whole lot better!!!

I was good to go away but as always it is niceto get home........lots of fantastic memories.....and it was great to catch up with Dawn and Leanne as well....
