B is for Bag and also for ????

...BABY....!!!! A couple of weeks ago the very talented Leanne sent me this:

....a copy of the pattern for her bag.........I then signed up at Hettie's Patch to do a class to make the bag...........ok...ok....I am getting to the baby bit............................!

I was undecided as to what fabrics to use and which bag to make.......do I make it for me ..... or as a gift...........! My mind was made up for me on the weekend when I received a call from DD1 (mother of the gorgeous grand baby Dylan)......after the usual preamble...."how are you"...... and her to me "where are you I have been trying to call you all day and didn't want to leave the news in a message on your phone".....(the noise of the sewing machines in the class must have drowned out the mobile ringing.....).......so.............yes you guessed it ....DD1 is pregnant again....woo and hoo.........!! .....but wait there is more.....no.....not twins......just one....but the lovely Jo has this way of carrying babies so that no one...(not even her!) knows they are there....so the big news I guess is that the baby is due in about 5 weeks!!! .....Yep......not much time for the Granny to get herself organised with PINK GIRLY stuff......it's a girl!!...It has taken me a little while to really get my head around this....LOL......I did mention that to Jo on the phone the other night and her answer was......"YOU are having trouble getting your head around it......how do you think we are going..."(they are of course ecstatic as Jo was told she couldn't have babies...and here comes #2!!) ....I was forgetting it was as much a surprise to her and Luke as everyone else.......Dylan was 26 weeks in the making when he made his presence felt (so to speak)......I have heard about this with other people but have always been a bit sceptical about how someone wouldn't know they are pregnant.....but when you come across it first hand you realise it can (and does) happen........so.............the upshot of this is........the bag will be made for my new grand baby..........! LOL.........I had planned two weeks leave from work from the end of next week...we are going away for a few days but I think the rest of the time may be spent in the sewing room.....my secret swap partners need not worry (well they can't anyway they don't know who they are!)....bags, little quilts etc will all be made and mailed on time.......as long as the Prince keeps the cups of tea and food up to me in the sewing room over that two weeks...LOL.....'cause Granny will be in "baby sewing mode".......!

So it's off to work for me now.....................'til next time.........................Lorraine

That's one huge surprise for the expectant Mummy and Daddy. At least she will have no worries about those last few weeks dragging out as they seem to with most pregnancies. Have fun sewing up a pretty pink storm.

Wow! What a surprise! No wonder she didn't want to leave a message, who would believe a message like that? Congratulations to all of you! (I really dislike being pregnant so a "short" pregnancy is a dream!)

wow - how lucky is she - nine months is such a long time to wait for a baby - but five weeks isn't. actually, on that point, it doesn't leave much time to get ready - oh dear.
hope all goes well!
