Black and White....with a bit of red

Mark deciding he wants a black and white quilt has opened up a whole new "black and white" world for me.....I didn't have any black and white fabrics in my stash so have been collecting a few to get me started......they are such fun to work with!! So I have been playing in my sewing room...........many blogs have featured this little bag/bucket which is a tutorial here...I have had it saved for a while but yesterday made this little cutie......hard to stop at just one though....so I probably won't!

Also in black and white and a bit of red.....with some stitchery fun as well......a sneak peek at a work in progress....

I have been working on Viv's Sampler (from the Loxton weekend) and am making progress...thanks to late nights watching the Olympics...........

Given that I have almost finished this stitchery I spent a bit of time yesterday getting another one ready to go.......I was lucky enough to win a copy of Natalie's Twelve Red Robins pattern in a giveaway on her blog and it has been waiting patiently for me to make a start.......so it is now traced and ready to go as soon as I am.......this is really cute and a "must finish" for Christmas.....this year hopefully!

Also "waiting in the wings" is the latest Dolly quilt from here.........(and it joins two others)....... there are holidays on the horizon so at least I won't be bored!..........Maree got me started on the Dolly Quilts so I have her to thank for that......I just have a few other things to get finished before I make can make a start on these little puppies!

Someone else has been up late at night! This is how I found Chelsea yesterday when I went to vacuum in the lounge room........well I couldn't wake her up could I ......so had to go and find something quiet to do......!....it was quiet in the sewing room!

On that note......'til next time........................Lorraine

Lorraine, your bag is so cute. Good choice of fabrics. Yeah, sometimes is fun to do a project with black/whites. The red on the bottom is perfect contrast.

My have you been busy, bag and stitchery look great. I've come to a stand still ( injured my finger at work) and haven't picked up a needle in a week......will try this week as finger a bit better now......unless you've got some spare time maybe I'll send my stitchery to you....Lol.
Have a great week,

Hey Lorraine! WOW! You've been a busy bee! It's funny, I love the effect of black and white with a splash or red, but have never made anything with those colours - mostly, I think, because our house is all greens and reds!! Can't wait to see that stitchery all finished!! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

And that miss spelt word was meant to read string.
It only takes a look at a cocker and I go to mush.
I also got the bright idea from looking at your great color cominations, that I have some floral osnaburg (we will not worry about spelling that one) and the floral may look nice with plains or checks.
