Someone has had a haircut!!

........and it isn't me!......take a look at Miss Chelsea before:
...and after visiting the dog groomer:

.....I don't have a close up of "that" look - but it says"go away with the camera.....now!"..... Chelsea has very fine hair which attracts things like....rose prunings and other things one finds when one is exploring the garden and going on walks......so every now and then she gets to visit the dog groomer for her hair cut......she doesn't mind at all except when the clippers get near her feet! .....doesn't like anyone touching the feet!!! ....I have made her a coat for the times when she may be outside when it is cold.....and that time is very limited because she is quite the indoor dog these days.....and nights!! ......while we have been home on holidays she has been lapping up the extra time she gets to spend inside!....she gets tired though as she follows the Prince wherever he goes and he certainly covers some ground when he is home......!! He has been busy in the garden and doing odd jobs around the house.....like replacing the attic door handle which has been "tricky" ever since we moved in ..... but it wouldn't work properly just once too often when the prince needed to get into the attic in a hurry the other day.....so it's GONE....and replaced with one that works properly every time.....woo hoo!

I was planning to get lots of sewing done during my break from work.......but the best laid plans......I have been sick with some sort of lurgy which has resulted in blocked ears and left me feeling tired and just a little bit grumpy...ok a lot grumpy!! LOL.....I have been doing a few things around the house in short spurts of energy when I have it.....including shifting (or rather getting the Prince to do the shifting) some furniture around.....checking out under the carpet in the passage to see just what is under there....(I dislike carpet and have been hinting strongly that I would like to rip it all up and just have floorboards.....)......and there are indeed some very nice floorboards under the carpet so the removal of the carpet is now ON the agenda.....a bit of house cleaning has also taken place and a LOT of resting.....sewing has been on the back burner and I am really looking forward to next week when I should be feeling better and a lot more like sewing!!

Today we are off to visit with Jo and Dylan for lunch followed by some shopping for the new baby (coming along on Oct 7!!)......so that was my first week off.......it was nice to be able to rest up and also get a few things done - I got out my favourite old dinner set and put it on the dresser (one of the things which got moved)......I had had a blue and white dinner set on display for a while and it was time for a change.........

We went shopping for a new stove and have found one that will do nicely...it has a cook top and an oven and griller - what more could you ask for......!! while shopping for the stove we bought a new "toy" for me (and those carpets I would love to rip up!).....a Dyson vacuum....if I have to have carpet in the house I would like to be able to keep it relatively clean!

We went for a walk the other night after a day of nice steady rain and I will leave you with a few pics taken around town.................

Polda Dots but no Rick Rack.....in a window display in the main street:

It was national Wattle Day on September 1st...... there are quite a few different varieties which are looking great this time of year:

.....I love this majestic old gum tree standing watch over the vines.............

I hope you have had a great week.................'til next time................Lorraine

Glad your back. I missed ya. And i'm telling you I NEED that red polka dot pitcher. OMG that is to die for.
We ripped out our carpet a few years ago and now have tile in all but one room. Love it. Carpet is nasty.

I love your dinner set. Very pretty! A change is nice, isn't it? We don't have any carpet anymore. We ripped it up a few years ago. We have floorboards and where the boards were old and not so good, we used a laminate floating floor. So much easier to clean than carpet! (And with a house full of asthmatics there isn't much point in having carpet!)
