ALQS Finish

I spent most of the weekend in my sewing room so it was a productive one!! I have been procrastinating for way too long on my ALQS quilt......what to make and what fabrics to choose.......! After several false starts and with a completley different colour range than I started with..........................I have finished!

Here is a pic of the back of the quilt............................even though it is in the traditional (as opposed to art) category I couldn't help but let these pink geese loose on the back.....

So there I was wandering around in the garden looking for a place to photograph the finished quilt......it is really hard to find just the right spot........the geese got loose in the garden..........

........soon the geese will be winging their way to..................................somewhere in the world.........very soon.......! I hope the recipient likes it....it was fun to make and I used colours I wouldn't normally use and that is a good thing...........! Thanks Kate for organising the swap......

So only a couple of swaps left to finish and I am up to date...and the deadlines are looming so I better get cracking!

We held a morning tea to raise money for Pink Ribbon Day at work today.......I whipped up a batch of cupcakes last night (Mark came into the kitchen and offered to help.....his "help" was to taste them as they came out of the oven!).....I made way more than I needed so there was enough for he and the Prince to take to work today..................and I have officially "made it".........we have a resident "queen of the kitchen" at work.....turns out all manner of fabulous cakes for all the morning teas and birthdays........(and is happy to do it).........and today everyone thought that she had made the cupcakes......!! woo hoo......high praise indeed!!

I managed to get all of them to work without mishap which was an interesting exercise......it was raining - I had two bags - a cup cake stand and two platters of cupcakes..........but with some help from a colleague we managed!

So here we are Monday night..................and the week stretches ahead.....off to the city tomorrow for a seminar - which means an early start....we are planning to get there early enough to have breakfast somewhere nice before the seminar starts....there was talk of lunch and shopping when it finished but the paperwork on my desk tells me another story......so back to work in the afternoon.

Hope you have a great week!

'Til next time..........................Lorraine

Those little flying geese are so sweet! And kind of match the yummy pinks at the bottom. I think the wild geese on the back was very appropriate for the piece too :)

Hi Lorraine! Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog! I also ended up putting some of my swap partners disliked colour in her quilt ... it just needed it :)
I am sorry that I have commented way down here but I had to ask you about the pink stripe in this post. I picked up a couple of fat 1/4's at a show and not seen it since. Do you know if they still have it where you purchased it? Thanks!
