ALQS and other goodies!

Ah.......the weekend again.......won't go into detail about the working week.....suffice to say "another one bites the dust" .........and move on!!! Don't get me wrong I love my job it just seems as though someone has conspired to make November one of the busiest I have ever encountered! ......and on Wednesday I spent two and a half hours in the dentist chair....that was the easy bit.......the real pain came with the amount of the bill for a couple of crowns....I think I have mentioned here previously that just because one is a "Princess" it doesn't mean ALL ones teeth should have crowns.........! .and besides it "eats" into the fabric budget a bit! But I do need teeth to be able to eat and I have to say I am very happy with the work that has been done so far and am now saving to have some more done - NEXT YEAR!...mid way thru next year to be exact! (given that "next year" is not far away!)

The mail has been awesome this week and I will also share pics of some of my purchases at the quilt show last weekend....and at Hetties Patch on the way home from the quilt show!......Leanne found these little tiles while she was away and sent them to me with one of her cards......Thanks Leanne......it was nice of you to think of me while you were on holidays!

I didn't buy a lot at the quilt show - caught up with Jane at the Patchwork Apple booth and with Sarah from Quilt Fabric Delights ........bought a few fat quarters ......and a couple of patterns.....one of which was the Melly & Me laptop bag.....one can always live in hope!! LOL...I have put out enough hints for a laptop for my birthday or Christmas (or both!).....!

I think the Christmas ribbon I bought from Hettie's is my favourite "find"........metres of it on a spool......I love it!!........and there is a bit of polka dot and rick rack action happenning in there as well......posting deadline for that swap is today.......and it is ready to go - just have to wait for the post office to open on Monday so I can send the package off to...........???...........Thanks Sharon for organising this swap.....it has been fun putting this one together.

Last but definately not least! I received my ALQS quilt from Andrea....WOW!.......I saw this on the ALQS blog the other day and fell in love with it.....and now it is here in my house!!! Andrea also included a cute pincushion and tiny container along with some fabric. The colours and workmanship on the little quilt are just fabulous! Thank you Andrea and to Kate for oganising the swap.....! Ihave been an admirer of Andrea's work for a while now so to have a piece of her work is amazing!....the hand quilting is lovely and the choice of a blue thread works well.......

Just one more swap to finish for this year - Donna's SSCS....mailing deadline for that is in 10 days....so into the sewing room today to finish that and get it ready to send off to.....???......

Next Saturday I am off to Amanda's to join in her Cyber Stitching day gtg......looking forward to getting the package from Karen and catching up with some of the girls I met at Loxton in July. (Hello Sue-no blog!)

I have received a few queries about where to purchase a copy of Viv's 12 Days of Christmas stitchery pattern. I got mine from Mrs Martins Quilt Shop and Karen will be happy to ship anywhere in the world.

I have also signed up for another BOM.......hey....I girl has to have something to do when she retires!! (and with the dentist bills and my quilting "habit" retirement won't be happenning anytime soon!) LOL....this one is with Karen of My Yellow Farmhouse - check out her online store here this is continuing my "affair" with wool! And Karen's blog is always a good read!

That's about it from me this morning.......time I was in the sewing room!

'Til next time...........................Lorraine

Hey Lorraine remind me on Saturday to give you some Drs flannel it is 80/20 wool/nylon from Onkaparinga woolen mills I have a bolt of it. If you have a top loader you may be able to get it to felt better than I can with a front loader, I just dye the colours I want if your really lucky I'll get my dyed stuff out as well and you can have a pick through that.

What a nice package to find in the post!

Thanks for the well wishes...I'm being a good girl and taking my nasty medicine, wearing my mask when out in public so I don't get something new, and I am reading a bunch while laying around the house.

Love your stuff! (especially the little quilt and that ribbon - metres and metres of it!) Hope this week is moving at a better pace. November can't be busy all month, can it?
