Time well spent......................

Today I have managed to while away the whole day doing ......well nothing really....and have had the best time doing it!! LOL.....I beat myself up sometimes thinking I always have to be achieving "something" and that by doing "nothing" I am wasting my time....well......once I got over that little hurdle I have really enjoyed the day.........what constitutes "nothing"?? .....well..... I have finished the jigsaw puzzle I got for Christmas........I love to do jigsaws and set this one up on a table in the lounge so I could put a few pieces in from time to time......this was on Christmas night when I opened the box and started.....
......a couple of nights later ...................
.........the horses gave me a bit of trouble but I finally got there...............
.......and today just one piece left!!
I also watched the cricket.......read some blogs.........wrote some emails....spent time with the Prince..........watched a bit more cricket.....and there is still a bit of the day left....! And I am still on holidays so why not.......!
Yesterday I spent "deChristmassing" the house and packing away the decorations for another year...this time though I spent a bit longer on the task and threw out a few things that needed to be thrown out.....packed and labeled the boxes and put them in the attic......this is the "before" photo after I had collected all the bits and pieces from around the house and assembled them in the lounge room ready for packing......
I should have taken note of the little plaque I got from Katie in my SSCS parcel.....(as in the banner for this blog) .....housework is/can be dangerous...while it probably won't kill you...I am sporting a black and very sore toe which connected with a piece of furniture while I was vacuuming.....and a sore back from vaccuuming under the bed...whatever was I thinking!!!!! I have scrubbed the bathroom from top to bottom and found the tiles under the soap scum...eeeeuuwww..that sounds dreadful...but the tiles have lost their gloss (happens with age I hear!! LOL) and get dirty in no time at all.....time to think about a reno of the bathroom I think.....!! I even shopped (for food - yawn) and also picked up some great post-Christmas savings on some new Christmas decorations.....
I love these two "posters"...they are metal and I couldn't resist them......straight in the box for next year when I got home from the shops...........
..........I also took a long time over brunch at the coffee shop down the road and read a new quilt mag......came home and did a bit more cleaning...I was on a roll!....then met a girlfriend for a late afternoon coffee (hot choccy in my case).....(x2)........
.....by that time the Prince was on his way home from work to cook the tea I had shopped for...well...a girl can only do so much!! LOL

So I think I deserve a day off today!
I took this pic of a Jacaranda tree in the main street yesterday....they look fabulous at this time of year.......................
I didn't get around to reading any blogs or emails yesterday so had a lovely surprise this morning when I received an email from Kellie to tell me I was the winner of her giveaway......a wonderful pillow....... ...I love Kellie's work and am thrilled that I will have a piece in my home...thanks for your generous giveaway Kellie....!
'til next time.......................Lorraine

Apart from your toe and back, it sounds like you've had a great day. I saw your name on Kellie's blog and thought lucky you.

You must be exhausted....I saw you won that fantastic pillow..luck you.
Jig saws in our house.... Tony always has the last piece.... when the box is opened and everybody is busy at first trying to get started he hides one piece then at the end he always has the last piece. The kids expect it of him now.

It sounds like you need a Mrs Doubtfire (a Roomba). Under the beds and chairs have never been so clean since I brought Mrs Doubtfire home and switched her on.

Watching cricket is a very productive way to spend your day . Jigsaws can be very addictive .

Congratulations on winning Kellie's giveaway.
I am another jigsaw puzzle fan although I haven't put a puzzle together in quite some time. When I get started on them I don't want to quit until my neck feels sore, that is, from looking for that particular piece that's needed.

Goodness gracious! I'm exhausted just reading!

Actually we did much the same work. Just a few more things left to haul out to the sheds. Today I want to SEW! :-)

Love the jigsaw! In fact, I can prove that I love it because I have that one! I'm not brilliant at jigsaws, but I love to do them. I find them very relaxing. We went through a stage where we had a jigsaw on the go all the time, but we don't have room for that at the moment. Another good reason to move!
