Unaccustomed as I am ............

................to shopping..........I do know what this is:

It's a tough one I know.............it's a lettuce right?.......yep................but when I went shopping the other night the young person at the checkout looked at it and said......"what is this?" I was a little taken aback I must admit......but when I saw he wasn't joking I told him it was a lettuce!! He then asked - "is it a green lettuce?"......I know he meant what category it came under for pricing..but I would have thought it was a given that it was green but I guessed it wouldn't have been under any list as a "green lettuce".........I think he worked it out in the end....or just put it under "unknown green stuff"! Still on the subject of salad ingredients...................there were four of us sitting at one of the tables in the lunch room yesterday and it was interesting to see what we were tucking in to....mine was the usual....salad and tuna................Paul was tucking into chicken and chips........Louis was about to devour his Chinese BBQ Pork meal and Wendy was having her usual protein shake, fruit and water......the boys are stick thin I might add!!! Hardly seems fair! Besides the supermarket you may have spotted me at this location a couple of times this week in the darkness of early morning.....

..............with vintage in full swing the roads are busy at this time.......usually there are only a few hardy joggers/cyclists/walkers but it is like peak hour with the change of shifts in the wineries.
The end of the working week tomorrow....a long weekend here in SA.....no big plans.......but hopefully some stitching will be happening!

'til next time.......................Lorraine

Green stuff! Lol! Der... what else would it be? It's funny when they don't recognise the fruit or veg. Stitching this long weekend? I think I will too. (Diamonds!)

Funny story about the lettuce! Hey, we have Curves here, too. They are all over the place.

That cracks me up. What is lettuce. But not a surprise.

Obviously we have a generation that doesn't know what salad is. I am sure the diet will catch up with the boys sometime in the future

Ha Ha I would like to visit his mums kitchen. It is really frightening when you think about it. I'm not sure what this weekend will bring. I think I would choose your lunch over the 4 ???? protein shakes urrr

Some people at work are on the shake diet - weight is falling off them but I worry about when they go on "maintenance". Your lunch looks the most appetising. Hope you enjoy your long weekend.

So funny but so true. And really, when they don't know what the stuff is, it's our fault. LOL Me being as guilty as anyone!

SIGH...as the mother of two who wouldn't eat anything green, one who wouldn't eat anything on bread, one who wouldn't eat "dinner food" and none of whom would drink anything white. Yet somehow they survived! :-)

If I hadn't seen the photos I wouldn't have believed Loz has entered such as an establishment as a supermarket - what has happened to the world????
Just kidding (I stitch with Loz regularly and I know she sees cooking as something that gets in the way of quilting!)
Cheers
