Boys at work!

This morning - before breakfast - the Prince and his son (visiting for the weekend) were talking.....mention was made of the fact that "one day" we need to take the old industrial (in looks and size) wood heater out of the dining room - it is no longer efficient and we are putting in a reverse cycle unit.............so no time like the present.......
Going.....................
Going....................

Gone.....................this was no mean feat....that thing is heavy cast iron.......perfect for a shed or workshop......but a bit out of place in the dining room......! I am hoping to find a fireplace insert to put in its place which will look better than this empty space!
After that bit of manual labour it was time for breakfast......Nick cooked and put the new bunny pancake mould to use for his eggs....not quite the same effect!!

Cheryl (no blog) arrived while this was happening and she and I headed down to check out the craft market in the local hall before enjoying a coffee at Blond.........leaving the "renovators" to clean up after themselves.

I have been itching to get to my quilt frame since it arrived last weekend and today was the day to make a start......I loaded on a couple of pieces of calico and some wadding......Cheryl's spare machine and off I went...I am hooked....it is fabulous.......had some issues with tension on the machine which I think I have now overcome......and am looking forward to some more time spent on the "doover" tomorrow......

I do also need to get into my sewing room and see if there is still a floor in there.....haven't seen it for a while......so tomorrow morning while everyone is sleeping in I will be upstairs in the sewing room....'playing'......!

I mentioned in a previous post that the Vintage Festival scarecrows are around - I just caught this one out of the corner of my eye when I went outside yesterday.......at first glance it looked like someone standing there looking into our yard...gave me quite a start!!!

Chelsea the wonder dog seems hell bent on doing herslef harm.....something woke me up in the early hours this morning.....I thought the mice must have got a lot bigger as there were some major munching noises coming from the dining room.....on further investigation I found Chelsea "hiding" under the dining room table finishing off a large block of chocolate she had stolen out of Nick's girlfriend's handbag......she had carefully removed the wrapper before getting stuck in......given that chocolate is like poison for dogs we were really concerned and kept a close eye on her but she has shown no ill effects - I think quite a bit of silver paper has been consumed as well so will be watching out for reflective poops around the yard......!

Two days of the Easter break gone already........hope where ever you are you are enjoying the holiday.

'Til next time..............Lorraine

Hi Lorraine, I'm so jealous...a quilting frame....all for you....good on you...some of us will have to continue to dream a little longer! No surprise that scarecrow gave you a scare...very realistic! Have a great Easter weekend

Your doggy story reminded me of the year we had the 'mystery of the disappearing eggs'! We couldn't understand why the children didn't seem to have collected anywhere near the amount of eggs the "Easter Bunny" had delivered - even after lengthy searching. The answer became quite apparent the next day when our dog's poops were sparkling in the sunshine!!! Fortunately he didn't suffer any ill effects either - and we did get a chuckle out of it :o).
Hope the "Bunny" is good to you :o)
Hugs,
Joy :o)

i love that heater!!!!

the chocolate stealing is a punishable offence in this household :) good to hear the dog is okay though - but imagine the waste.

easter sunday started at about 3.30am when louis thought it might be time to check to see if the easter bunny had come.......then again at 4.15am, 5.05am and in the end i had to wake him - julian stayed away (in my bed) tossing and turning (IN MY BED) from 5.30am. hope your easter is loads of fun.

I love the scarecrow. That would be funny to see once you got over the fright. The old wood heater is in good nick. It would be great in a workshop or in a BBQ area for Pizza's.

I see you have a quilting frame. They are great. Just getting use to mine. Learning every day.

All the best for easter.

Oh dear. One of my little dogs ate a 500gm bar of chocolate. Cost us a fortune at the emergency vet. One expensive bar of chocolate!

What kind of quilting frame did u get, just out of interest? I have just bought one too, here in Aus, so recently it hasn't even landed yet!and I'm curious about what other people do with their machines.
