To Resist is Futile.................

Ok......Ok......I am admitting it....I have bitten off way more than I can chew.........but hey I am going to keep on chewing!! LOL.......I have tried to resist but then I see something like this.............Stitchery of the Month.....from Under the Mulberry Tree.......and I start to crumble............

I found the Heart and Home BOM in the Quilt Basket in Victor Harbor while we were on holiday.............I have fought hard against this one though.......I first saw it months ago and fell in love with it...but resisted......perhpas it was because I was in holiday mode.....my resistance was low.......so the first block arrived in the post this week!............

I have also been lucky and have won a a couple of giveaways........this ultra cute pattern from Melly & Me................just as well I won it - or I would have had to buy it....LOL...........

........and this Jelly Roll from Sarah who had a giveaway to celebrate the launch of her new venture SEWN......A Kathy Schmitz fabric.....Redbird in the Bowers.............and speaking of Kathy Schmitz...........I bought this pattern a while ago and have finished.....you thought I was going to say finished stitching...LOL....NO! .....I have finished TRACING it ready to stitch..........

Whilst I may not finish any of these anytime soon I know they are there waiting for me when I get some time to stitch.......and I like that they are..........I am a bit time poor at the moment with working full time........and as superannuation isn't such a fabulous investment at present I have chosen these (and my other BOMs-in-waiting) as my "super"! .........they will keep me busy in retirement....which I have to say won't be happening anytime soon......maybe if I could resist buying "stuff" and going on quilting weekend workshops it may happen sooner......! LOL.......but I am having WAY too much fun to stop yet!

'Til next time...................Lorraine

I love to stitch too. Your tracing looks great, that to me is the worst part. What do you use to trace your patterns?

You have some beautiful projects ahead of you. I am unable to resist too! If I see it, I need it. I get it and put it away to start someday....

Hello there
I have the Kathy Schmitz pattern too! You are way ahead of me on the tracing. I have not selected a fabric yet. May I ask what fabric you choose for the stitchery? The Melly & Me pattern is calling my name. I guess I better get busy. Nice post.

Do it! Start stitching!! Glad to see that you've got lots to do!! What a shame it is that you work full time too!!

What a great idea ... a stitching 'super' LOL. Love that pattern you've traced out, I haven't seen that one before.
Seems you and Peg are having similar problems with resistance lol - http://happyinquilting.blogspot.com/2009/06/i-just-could-not-resist.html - I think you both did the right thing he he ... that 'Grandma's House' is such a cute stitchery ;o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Hey Lorraine! I sometimes think that if we resist our first impulse to buy something ... but then keep lusting after it for quite some times, it just proves that we REALLY do need to get it! Tee! Hee! Hee! Besides, I like your idea of 'super' much better than the bank's idea that just seems to be going backwards at the moment - stitch and enjoy, I say. Of course, this could also explain why I'll be around 90 before I can retire too! :0) Happy reno'ing! Bear Hugs! KRIS

I like your thinking and have to admit my cupboards are filling with "super" patterns, kits etc as well. Nothing like being prepared.

I'm unable to resist some times as well, I figure that what I buy isn't going to go off and will be there for me when I have more time to enjoy completing them. A great idea - a stitching superannuation, I'm happy to say I'm investing in it as well.
take care
Pip

I never pictured you as a Trekkie Loz! Quoting the Borg even! My Lily once had the proud distinction of being 7 of 9. (Child no.7 in a family of 9 people) Then we had no.8 and she is 7 of 10. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Love all your pretty things!

Yes, it is useless to resist...and it is much more fun to not resist at all!!

Oh dear oh dear looks like you really have a problem...think I will have to do a intervention on you & take all those material temptations away from you...not for me you understand....I am only thinking of you....seriously...give me a ring if you feel yourself weakening again...
