Helen Stubbings Rocks!!

Last year I signed up for a workshop with Helen Stubbings....it was to be in March this year but was postponed......until this weekend! I left yesterday morning for the two hour drive with the weather threatening rain.....and not a lot of traffic on the road........making for an easy drive..........

.....and the workshop was just what I needed to kickstart my mojo.....!! (I dragged her kicking and screaming back from wherever she has been partying with other lost mojo's........!! )

Helen had three projects for us..............two involved her Colourque technique and there was an applique project that I didn't get to try............I was too busy colouring in!

The Prince surprised me last night by driving up to have dinner with me!.....I think he thought that the ute may be needed to take my purchases back given that Tricia is having her closing down sale......but I have been very restrained......although I am going back to the shop in the morning before I drive home.......I need a couple of DMC threads....does that sound like a plausible excuse??? I thought so..........!

Late yesterday I finished the free motion "drawing" with black thread on white for the next project............I can't lay claim to the original drawing which was done by Helen.....but I did the free motion stitching which has probably changed the drawing quite a bit (and not for the better!!) LOL.......

This morning I started with this:

and a tin of 72 Derwent Inktense pencils........

............and ended up with this:

I was pleased with the piece overall.....more work on the yellow flower perhaps.....but not too bad......the pencils are easy to work with and I love the intensity of the colour.....wonder if that is how they got their name....do you think!?????!! ....now for some "intense" quilting and it is done....!
