Leanne also made the wonderful goodie bags we all received......I forgot to take a photo of mine today and am too lazy (tired?....yep that sounds better!) to go upstairs and take one now.......well done Lorraine, Leanne, Kate, and all the others who put on such a great weekend! Of course the weekend wouln't have happened without Kellie flying over and teaching her techniques.......raw edge applique and free motion quilting........along with other tips for binding.....and inserting zips in pillow backs.....thanks Kellie! .................and here is the master at work.......(on Benny's big brother ...........!) (If you haven't seen Kellie's work before hop over to her blog - you won't be disappointed!)
....and here is a pic of my practice piece.......on the left you will see my first attempt at some free motion work......I was aiming for a line....I got a scribble!!...Kellie to the rescue and you will see her demo on the right.......something to aspire too! I was happier with the rest of the free motion work......practice....practice....practice.....!
....then came the quilting..........I was pretty happy with my efforts there......I haven't done a lot of free motion quilting and again this is something that only really comes with practice......Kellie had some of her fabulous quilts and pillows with her (Inspiration +!!).......there was one that wasn't there.....because I was lucky enough to win it in a give away on Kellie's blog earlier this year......and it lives with me in a place where it will be safe from dog drool (so not on the lounge!)
Leanne thought this pillow was going home with her........
...........nice try.......there were two Lorraine's and a Lisa with similar ideas...!! I'm pretty sure it was put back in Kellie's suitcase.......???
All in all it was a great weekend.....dinner on Saturday night was excellent......with Viv saving the day for all of us who didn't have any cash!....and thanks Kris......who had me stay over at her house last night.....(a sleep over.....so very high school!)....LOL....special thanks to Miss 12 who gave up her bed for me!
'Til next time......................Lorraine

I'm all too envious...wonderful day quilting and gorgeous eye candy you've shared!
Your sewing machine looks like it has a gigantic throat area. Would be easier for machine quilting.

what a great workshop...........would love to do this........
Looks like a great weekend!! Glad to see that Benny enjoyed his trip! How awesome it would be to learn from Kellie herself!!

It was a lovely weekend. Very well organised and lots of help from all the wonderful ladies for coffee tea and refreshments and it was a lovely bunch of students as well. I think everyone enjoyed the two days.
I'm sure Kellie wouldn't miss that pillow when she unpacks her suitcase(evil laugh). It was a great weekend.
