A Finish!!!

Yikes....it's been a while since I could say that!! And here it is...........

This was a project I started a couple of years ago at the Loxton workshop - it is a Viv's Creations pattern and the stitchery was finished a while ago and it has been on the design wall waiting for the borders and backing........and today was the day......! It has no home as yet...we haven't made any holes in the wall to hang things since the painting was finished....but when we do I think this piece might find a home in the passage........

I finished the back for Lilly's quilt (Lilly is the grand daughter of one of the girls I work with) ..........just as well I checked before I did the applique.....who knew Lilly had a doule "l"!......the lettering came from "The ABCs of Words on Quilts" by Elizabeth Scott aka Late Bloomer Quilts ......

oh....and here is the front of the quilt....I have had the panel for ages and just added some borders........all it needs is some quilting and it will be done!

This afternoon I thought I had better test the theory that housework won't kill you and ventured out of the sewing room to spend some time vacuuming and washing floors.......just as I was putting the finishing touches to the floors a storm hit........thunder and lightning......and rain.....Chelsea was spending a bit of quality time outside with the Prince - but decided being inside was by far the best option given the change in the weather......wet and muddy paws meet clean floors.......goodbye clean floors!! Oh well......back to the drawing board!

Yesterday was a perfect Spring day ..........and the kids had a wedding to go to.........they scrubbed up ok I thought...!!

Looks like the weather is back to winter for the rest of the week.....the rain will be most welcome.........! Back to work tomorrow.......and during the week I need to make sure I have everything together for the workshop on the weekend.......with Kellie from Don't Look Now....really looking forward to this one! My eating plan is going well.......and I have been keeping up my three workouts a week at Curves......starting to feel better......am looking forward to the results of my first week on "the plan".......I will keep you posted.

'til next time......Lorraine

You have been a busy little beaver, haven't you? I'll bet if I look hard enough, I COULD find instances where housework has maimed, if not killed, someone! I'm going to keep clear of it, just in case...

the stitchery and quilt are **almost** as adorable as the kids, all dressed in their wedding finery.

That stitchery is so cute! And so are the kids :o) I hear you about the housecleaning bit, but I think it WILL kill me, so I am just gonna quilt this afternoon :o)

Now that the excitement of the birthday weekend and school holidays is over I can look forward to Don't Look Now.... can't wait.... My diet took a beating this weekend and I feel like a lump of lard this morning far too many carbs were consumed on the weekend back to clean living and I think I will be providing my own lunch on the weekend otherwise I feel the same next Monday. My machine is all serviced and running like a dream(it did need a service after all) and I have a crate of fabric all packed ready and a shopping list with Lorraine yoohoo.

I don't exactly know where that wall hanging is but I know it isn't finished. Yours looks great. Looking forward to next weekend.

Lovely stitchery! You did it - woo hoo!
You have been busy and especially with looking after you. I am working up to making an exercise routine work. You know how hard it is = stitching or workout. I will figure out a way that both do not "suffer". :0)

I am still chuckling over the clean floors and the doggie paws. It happens in the best of families.

Your children do clean up very nice.

Hugs

My best to you this coming week.
