1) it means you can stay indoors the entire weekend - or if you have to get out.......go for a drive in the air conditioned car to an air conditioned quilt shop!
2) it also means you can get the housework done early (if you must!) and spend the rest of the day stitching (once the sewing machine and other necessary items have been moved into the airconditioned dining room) - otherwise give the housework a miss and just sew!
3) and......hot flushes.... you don't notice them - you are just hot all the time......
4)......great chance to catch up on some blog reading...................and I am struggling to find anything else....................!!
Time I was getting upstairs to bring down some sewing paraphenalia .......the dining room is about to be taken over!! Whatever the weather where you are - I hope you have a great weekend......!
'Til next time..................Lorraine

Hi Lorraine I am actually coping with the heat wave rather well this time. Work just had a new spit system put in and although it is hot when we get into the office it soon cools down, i park in a shady spot so the car doesn't get hot and I have worked out the timer on the air conditioner at home so I set it to come on half an hour before I get home. We have been leaving going into the pool until after 6 so it isn't too hot so we have been finishing the day with a swim and a shower. Thursday I sat under the airconditioner at home and sewed and didn't feel guilty because I wasn't doing any housework the ironing can wait (but not for much longer lol).
yes well thanks for sending it our way..........not quite as hot as you have been but darn well hot enough........lol..........off for a swim in the pool.........
you know what gets me through. each morning i make myself a shot of espresso and put it in the freezer for ten minutes and then add cold milk. it's pure heaven and it's my treat for those really hot mornings. the other thing that makes me feel better is listening to my neighbours jumping in their pool all day.....i wish i had a pool :(
stay cool - this time next week it's supposed to be 23C

You are having a heat wave - I like all of your ideas about why you should be stitching!!!
Kim and I are heading out early tomorrow for a "Road Trip", out weather is fallish, cooling just the type to stop and have a nice cup of tea along our travels - to you guessed it - Quilt shops and craft events.
Happy weekend.
We are a bunch of like-minded souls, aren't we? I like that every kind of weather is a good excuse/reason to go to a quilt shop! It has been so hot and tomorrow will be even hotter they say. (I'm beginning not to like those people at the weather bureau) Fortunately our new house is not only toasty warm in winter, (without heating) it is also cool in summer (once you turn the aircon on!). My Bradley is a little worried about the size of the electricity bill, but I think I will read and relive every cool moment I have enjoyed this past week!
You did well coming up with that number of reasons. Hope your little weather reprieve comes through this week.
I hate to tell you this but it was cool in Melbourne on the weekend.
I love your list! What great ideas to help through the heat wave.
Stay cool and stay safe. :)
