This weekend was quite a social one for us......yesterday was the end of year gtg for our little stitching group......we have been meeting for almost nine years - initially we met weekly but over time that changed to the first Saturday of each month - whenever we get together we always have a great time and occasionally even do some stitching!! The guys usually join us for the end of year function and the weather yesterday was perfect for an outdoor lunch.......thanks Linda for hosting a wonderful afternoon........here we are just prior to opening our gifts....at the beginning of the year we draw a name and make a Christmas gift for that person....we might as well draw the name in November as I think most of us make the gift in the few weeks leading up to the end of year function........
My gift was for Cheryl and it contained the table runner I finished last weekend......
I also made a bon-bon for each of the girls along with a stack of shortbread stars.....
Amanda bought these along to share......they didn't last long!I also made a bon-bon for each of the girls along with a stack of shortbread stars.....
.......we had "real" bon-bons as well ..............
.....which yielded the usual paper hat......joke (this one got more groans than grins......) and gift....in this case a lovely plastic ring.....which the Prince thought would save him shopping....he is hilarious!!
We left in late afternoon to go to a Christmas BBQ at Mark's GF's parents house......the perfect weather continued and the evening was most enjoyable....no pics......I forgot to take the camera out of the car.....!
I did manage a few minutes in the sewing room late this afternoon and put the borders on the Joy to the World table runner....
I was hoping to finish it but ran out of steam!Mark and I went to visit his house today......it is almost finished ........it has gone from this (in early August)....
.....to this a few weeks later..........
....to this today.............a very exciting time for him! Hand over should be within the next month....
'Til next time................Lorraine
