Me and My Shadow........................

.....were at the beach first thing this morning.........I kinda like being with my shadow....she is always there and will never let me down.......oh and look how tall and thin she is!!! What's not to love??

I was joined by a couple of other early risers who were on the look out for their breakfast........

I am not sure they were having much luck! I left them to it and walked back to the villa to organise my breakfast!

I don't live near the beach.. ....but in the past few weeks this was my second visit! This time I was at Wallaroo with a group of girls for a three day stitching retreat.....Organised by Sharon and Shontelle from Patchwork on Parade it was a fantastic weekend ..... and I even got some stitching done!! Thanks girls for another fabulous retreat......oh....and a special mention to Sharon's Mum Mavis.....what a fabulous lady........!...... so all aboard for Mannum in a month!!

The venue for the retreat was the town hall in Wallaroo....a magnificent old building with ornate ceilings and light fittings.......so what to do when a light bulb "dies"

.......easy..... a workman climbs into the ceiling and lowers the entire light fitting down to ground level where the light bulb (and that is one big light bulb!) is replaced ......then the light fitting is winched up again....let there be light!

It was great to catch up with some of the girls I met in Mannum last year......Prue, Kris and I shared a villa which was right on the beach........it was very relaxing to hear the waves breaking on the shore at night.........

.....although I think Prue may have heard more snoring than waves breaking as she had to share with me!! Sorry Prue!

Kris wasn't there for the entire weekend as she did a dash back to Adelaide on Friday night to welcome her second grand child (a beautiful little girl).....but being the dedicated stitcher she is, Kris was back at her machine in Wallaroo late Saturday afternoon!

Last year at the Mannum retreat.........I made this quilt top .........and since then it has been sitting in the sewing room without borders.......as I didn't have enough of the fabric I wanted to do them......... few motnths after the retreat I found the fabric I needed .......and now the borders are on........another finished top......(that didn't take long)!!

I sat next to Deb......and despite the fact we talked non-stop for most of the first day she finished her Disappearing Nine Patch top! Well done Deb!!

After putting the borders on the hexagon quilt I put together this top - another of Rachel Griffith's (PS I Quilt) Scruffily Quilt patterns .......this is such an easy quilt to make - it goes together really quickly and is fun!

.........there is only one thing that can cause a mass exodus from the machines.........................

Lunch!!! ............and you can always spot a fellow blogger...................they are the ones taking photos of the food! This is Vicki....a new blogger........check out her blog here...............

It's been a while since I have posted........it's been a busy time here - even though I am on annual leave from work I haven't had much spare time...one more week of leave so hopefully some of that time can be spent in my newly cleaned and de-cluttered sewing room! (Pics to follow)!!

Hi Lorraine, I was wondering if I could use some of your photos for my blog....mine are all blurry. Shaking too much from the over consumption of coke maybe??? Could you email me at fuzzyshon@hotmail.com to let me know if it's ok?

Thanks. Love, Shonny xxxx
