......and what did I do......................drove to Mannum for a weekend of fun.......(and even some stitching!).....We gathered at the Pumphouse at the Mannum Caravan Park on Friday afternoon.......this was another Sharon and Shontelle retreat.....and they do it so well! It was great to catch up with retreaters of old and some first timers as well.......Sharon got the ball rolling late on Friday afternoon with happy hour.......
the crocodile made of bread made for novel dip presentation.......(poor thing was on the endangered list as soon as it appeared!)..........
The machines were set up and the stitching started in earnest......and continued until late that night...I didn't last very long.....last week was a huge week for me......so I retired to the cabin to rest up and recharge for the rest of the weekend!
I worked on my Club Rouge quilt and Marg Low Christmas club table runner........and got them finished (well the tops anyway!) ....I added another star to the table runner to make it a bit longer.....I also spent lots of time talking....a little time on a redwork stitchery......and just generally enjoyed the weekend.........
The red theme also appeared in other forms..................
During the afternoon on Saturday the Murray Princess made her way up river.....An impressive sight..........
The prolific bird life along the river ensured there was no sleeping in! These galahs were having fun in a tree on the river bank.....some were hanging upside down like bats...they were either the jokers of the group...or they just couldn't sit on the branches!!
Sharon and Shontelle are very generous retreat hosts....and last night I was the lucky recipient of the "door prize".......a fat quarter pack of Park Avenue by 3 Sisters.....to say I was thrilled with this prize is an understatement.....
Time to get back to the real world this afternoon........back to work tomorrow.........with the Easter weekend coming up......who knew Easter was this close!!?? Wasn't it just Christmas?
I have joined the Gardener's Journal Stitch Along ...... so far I have retrieved the book from the sewing room.......next step is to decide on what fabric to use...and if I will do the stitcheries in one colour or as they are in the book......decisions .....decisions.......meanwhile you can check on the progress of othes who have joined here........
'Til next time........................Lorraine

Nice door prize, we can never have enough fabric can we? One or two galahs is bearable but that lot would be quite noisy.

Ahhh... quilt retreats. Ya gotta love 'em. I'm just back from one too, and it looks like we had a lot in common, even though we're half a world apart. We didn't see galahs though! Just several deer roaming in the backyard at dusk. Love seeing your finished rouge table runner. A fun weekend for you, I can tell.
