Back again............!

Yikes.....two posts in two days.......I'm on a roll! I had a good day today (lately they aren't always that way so I make the most of the good ones when they come along!)......spent some time in the garden.....I know .....I know....not something I have ever made a habit of in the past....but........I came to the realisation the other day that if I don't pull out the weeds.......they aint gonna get pulled out!

So I familiarised myself with this little gadget.........

It can't be too hard can it.....doesn't look too complicated...................! We have had some rain so the ground was quite soft and the little hook thing at the front of the gadget just lifted the weeds straight out of the ground....who knew!!! Before long I had this..............

......and the front garden is weed free!

It didn't take long and I spent the rest of the afternoon in the sewing room as a reward! (the back garden is on the list for next weekend!) Can't rush these things!

My back doesn't enjoy bending and I didn't want to present the neighbours with this view........

.......so I took the picnic blanket out and sat on that....all I needed was a picnic and I would have been set......what.......? doesn't everyone do the weeding whilst sitting on a picnic blanket???

'Til next time................Lorraine

Cute stitchery! I find it is best to break my gardening up into small parts and using rewards is always helpful!

It is great to hear from you two days in a row. Your furry friends are so cute. Love your gloves too. Those stitcheries are in my to-do pile. I love that little quilt. Have a great week. Hugs.

I admire you for getting out there to garden at all! I'd much prefer to work on a cute stitchery, such as the one you showed us. Great work.

Woohoo! Gardening! I'm a fan myself, but don't often make the time to get out there. I spent the afternoon in the sewing room working on three table runners. I know! If I had just concentrated on one I might have finished something, but you know me. Flit, flit. Now I am watching my new silk screening dvd which is very inspiring!

Very civilized method of weeding, Lorraine! The stitcheries are so cute, as are the kittens. I hope you are getting lots of laughs while they play. Glad you're sewing too!

Great idea to reward yourself for gardening!!! I'm not one for doing much in the yard either ... I'd much rather be stitching ;o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

If I had one of those doohickeys (which I dont ) and if I gardened (which I dont) and if I decided to weed (which I wont) I'd need the largest mini skip imaginable to contain all my pulled up weeds.

However I think it's awesome that you did. Hope you have a fabulous week. Stay warm!

I've been eyeing off one of those tools for a while now, I just wish they made a longer one so I wouldn't have to kneel down to weed. I suppose I should force myself into the garden for an hour or so this week.

Cool tool. I've never seen one like that before. Love your gloves too. I sure wish it was cool enough for gloves here. I'm sooo tired of the heat. :-)

I am with you there Lorraine re the gardening!! Thats why we have 9ft fences - dont want to scare the neighbours - mind you, if I was to do much gardening they might call the UFA (unidentified Arse) ppl to come out LOL!! Much rather be sewing for sure..... Just love your new babies :))) Give them a hug and pat from me xx
