Oh The Indignity Of It All!

I guess if I hadn’t sneaked off while Loz was having a shower and tried to take out these pesky stitches she probably wouldn’t have put this thing on my head!  It’s not too bad……I can get out the door now without it getting caught on the step….and after the first hour of sitting sulking with my head hanging down and my chin on the floor (well it would have been if not for this “thing” on my head) I realised it wasn’t going to be taken off so I decided to suck it up and get on with what I really wanted to do…..sleep! …….I have been doing a lot of that in the past couple of days…..every now and then I get a pain that makes me get up and turn around in circles for a minute then it goes again and I can get on with my rest.

I haven’t lost my appetite..in fact I seem to be hungrier now and have been eating all my meals in one go instead of picking at them over a couple of hours….I heard the vet nurse (my former friend!) tell Loz that I had to have soft food for a week….great…back to being a baby again…! Apparently that doesn’t mean I can pee on the floor like I used to back when I was a baby….nope……outside for that ……and do you know how hard it is to find just the right spot when you have a “bucket” on your head?.....every time I put my nose to the ground this thing catches and pulls me up……oh well…I guess I will just go where I usually go…….

And the camera? ….would she stop with that….I don’t want to have too many pics of me not looking my absolute best. What the pics don’t show is that I now have “ink”….yes…..I have tatts!! One in each ear….not sure I would have chosen green for the colour …but then I wasn’t consulted!  Apparently they are to show that I have been microchipped….(I guess that would account for the pain between my shoulder blades) – and (to put it politely) have had my “girly bits” taken out…….shaved, stitched and tattooed – as if that wasn’t enough…now the ‘bucket’! *sigh*

'Til next time.......................Rose

I'm sorry to see your puppy feeling so sorry for herself, but keep the cone on her! I fell for the sad eyes from my dog and let her have her cone off after a surgery. While we were gone for a few hours, she managed to pull out a few staples. It was a big mess and took about two months to heal. If she had left it alone it would have taken a week. I hope Rose heals quickly!

oh my goodness. when I first came to the US to find housing, I stayed with my future hubby's family. Their dog had just had ear surgery and had one of those things on his head but he got it off! It would take too long to tell it all but imagine feminine pads and duct tape, if you will. Hope you and your pup survive :-)!

Sometimes we hurt the ones we love..It's for your own good Rose.

She does look pretty downtrodden wearing her new millinery..

You said you'd be back with some stitching updates... I didn't quite realise just what sort of stitching you were referring to!

That picture says it all - poor thing. Give her a hug from Cami - who also wore the cone of embarrasment :).

Oh, Rose, don't be mad at Loz...she still loves you! I remember when my kitty Maggy had to be shaved and have stitches, she held a grudge for two weeks. Maybe the kitties will have to take their turns too...?

Rose tells her story so sweetly--she's certainly trying for the ole sympathy, isn't she?
Time heals all wounds, Miss Rose. Just be patient and cozy up to your quilt.
