Lunch and the twilight market........

The lovely Mrs P came to visit for lunch today..........no pics....too busy talking...(and eating the amazing fudge (see Mrs P's blog for details of ingredients........) Delish!   In honour of the said Mrs P's Frugal February (well....for grocery shopping anyway!) I sourced all but the cheese for the lunch dish from the pantry......and freezer........good on me!!  Spinach and Ricotta Canneloni.......

Thanks for coming Mrs P.....fantastic to meet you IRL......you are awesome......I am sure there will be more gtgs and chatting/eating.........looking forward to that!!

Later this afternoon I went to the Grange Twilight Market with Wendy (no blog) to catch up with Leanne and Amanda who had a stall there......I had one of Amanda's little bags on my shopping list .......just the right size to take my phone/keys/paper money when I take Rose walking.........

....the other thing I had on my shopping list was a new wheat bag - I saw that the Australian Wheatbag Store was having a stall and had picked out the Uber-Rex bag.....and it didn't disappoint.....not the best pic in the world....hey...it's late and I have eaten lots of fudge today!  It wraps around the neck and shoulders and is weighted so it stays there......not like the one I currently have that you have to hunch your shoulders to keep it in place...which doesn't actually help the pain!!

Suffice to say next time the neck/shoulder pain strikes....Uber-Rex and me......we will be ready!

Had to wait for a lull in the crowd to get a pic girls (well just Leanne in this pic!) working hard.............it was a great looking stall btw - you have both done a great job!

the market from the beach.......

Gave these potato spirals a miss.......I ate fudge remember! These were the raw ones......the finished "articles" have been deep fried and then covered / smothered with your choice of condiments.......

When we had finished wandering around the stalls......(although given the crowd and the close proximity of the stalls to each other it was more a case of a slow moving shuffle occasionally navigating around prams and dogs......) we made our way to the beach.....yay....haven't put a toe in the ocean for way too long...........

Ahhhh....that feels better.......

I could probably cope reasonably well living in one of these I think.......

....we ran into  a few other bloggers/quilters among them QuiltyGal and AusRose who were leaving about the same time as us...so we caught up for coffee.......thanks girls...it was great to have a laugh and I have put our "date" in my diary for April. Looking forward to it!   All in all it was a very social weekend....with my stitch 'n bitch gtg yesterday and lunch/markets today.....did me a power of good!

So Socialising 10/10.......Stitching.......0!  But I did download block 6 from the Civil War Quilts site.....will need to get this done during the week to keep up to date.....

And as a bonus to the day........a great sunset on the way home.........

Oooooooo!  Look how pretty/sparkly/shiny my car is - Wendy came to visit unexpectedly this morning..she came to get my car keys....and take my car home to wash and detail it for me........so now it hasn't got squished locusts all over the front grill - yay!  It was her belated Christmas present to me.....what a gal!! :)

That's about it for me tonight.....need to get organised for work tomorrow....which means doing some ironing - or not - depending on how the shirts have dried...LOL....

Gratitudes: friends, good times with friends, and friends who do things like detail your car for you......oh ....and Mrs P's fudge!!

Ohhhhhhh. The beach looks so good. Sigh. I haven't put my toes in the water for such a long time either.

Such nice times for you, Loz. The beach - the weather! - looks SO wonderful. And your clean car! Wow. What I wouldn't give... Now you've got me thinking about a great blog post: "How dirty is your car?" Here, where it's below freezing and therefore unwise to wash a car because the car doors - hinges and locks - will freeze, everyone's driving filthy cars. Though I was able to get my VW Beetle washed a week ago, when we had a couple days above freezing, it didn't take long for more snow and road grime to make it dirty again. You have lots of blessings, don't you!? Oh fudge!

How fun! I'm sure there was hardly a space to breathe between the eating, talking, laughing and sharing. Jealous!

Definitely a 10 weekend even without the sttching :)

As for the beach, I live in a beach town and it seems I get there maybe once a year. Very sad.

Look at you with all those fancy schmancy shots of the sunset particulary the one you took in the mirror!

I had so much fun lunching with you and the canelloni was fabulous.

I came home and ate some more of that damn fudge...I need to get it out of my house. It's controlling my brain ala Homer Simpson ....mmmm fudge.

Mmm the fudge sounds nice but I will just think about it rather than make and eat it, less calories that way. The pic of the footprints in the sand is just lovely, my favourite.

I went to visit the wheatbag lady got the eye one, think I will go back for some more though seriously good wheat bag. Also ordered some jewellery from Tweet Design which is going to be my birthday pressie. The crowd was nuts wasn't it. We did ok which means don't have to sew any more for the stall which is fine by me I can get on with stuff I want to sew, but first I have to tidy the sewing room :( lol. Amazing sunset from the beach, Leanne had her big camera and I am sure the shots are amazing as always.

I've just left a blog where the writer makes very pretty soaps that look like fudge, then I come here and read more about fudge! Clearly the universe is sending me a message. I need to make some fudge.
I love that long shot of the jetty with the crashing waves.

It was great to see you but would have been better if we could have sat and chatted over a cuppa. Perhaps next time. Love the sunset.

Fabulous photos, fun locales, a relaxing time -- such a wonderful day you had. It's so refreshing to see what others are enjoying, compared to the boredom of our cold and snow.
Thank you for putting a smile on my face, letting me also enjoy what you did.

Sounds like a great weekend. I hadn't heard of the grange markets before, they sound good. I took a few pics of the sunset on Saturday night on our way home from Adelaide as it was so pink but my shots didn't turn out as well as yours!!
