Rubbing shoulders with a celeb......

Yesterday morning Lenora took me four wheel driving in their back paddocks.....

........to show me this....

.....and this......

This coastline is right in their back yard (or paddock).......Lucky Lenora!  We didn't spend too much time on this little trip as we were on a mission......yes....the three musketeers, amigos, stooges, blind mice, witches of Eastwick.....Charlies Angels or the chipmunks......you choose....... (I know there are a couple of people who willl choose the witch option LOLOL) ......were joined by the lovely Janine (no blog) to make the trip to Ballarat for a lecture..........and not on our behaviour either!

We left early to give us some time to check out a couple of patchwork shops.... first of all Gail's .......standing room only and it really would be  impossible to take in everything the shop has to offer in just one visit! At every turn there is more....and still more......I kept my purchases to a couple of free motion quilting books.....got to get that doover into operation when I get home!  we got to Ballarat Patchwork just as they were closing...but managed a quick look around........and just one pattern purchased........

It was then off to the Mecure Hotel for dinner.......and the lecture...........

Janine was kind enough to take the pic for us as we wandered thru the grounds of the hotel.....while we were waiting for dinner who should walk in but Vicki (no blog)......fab to see you Vick!

Dinner was ordered and Janine ordered a mains Ceaser Salad.......hadn't seen one served quite like this .....but apparently it was delicious...(the lettuce leaves had cheese in them....this was taken after Janine had started.......)

after dinner we wandered over to the lecture hall.........and look who was there!

See....told you we rubbed shoulders with a celeb.......None other than Jodie (aka Ric Rac)....

oh.....and Kaffe was there too........this is a rushed pic of Lenora having her book signed.....(there is a much better one on Linda's blog.....)

A very inspiring lecture......!  ...it was a long drive home...but it went quickly....because we all had lots to talk about....who knew?? Particularly liked Linda's story about her inventive car window shade!

Thanks Lenora for your hospitality - it was great to meet you and your wonderful family.....thanks Linda for your company and stories....and your shop of course......and Janine....it was lovely to meet you.........I really enjoyed my stay in your beautiful part of Aus....!

Gratitudes....
Friends...I think I have said that before....but will say it again.....!
family....and of course....
the Jazz!

'til next time....................Lorraine

That must have been a deconstructed Caesar salad I think.
I saw that Kaffe Fassett is here in Adelaide soon, but it's on a Friday night and I'm working, never mind, one day. I'm expecting to see some Kaffe inspired blocks (or quilt) sometime in the future.

Love the caesar salad...thats my favourite salad ever...

So you've been off hob nobbing and having fun have you? I'm so happy for you . It looks like you're having an absolute ball!

I'm not sure which is my favorite part of your wonderful narrative -- the backyard view, the delish salad, or the one-and-only Kaffe. I suppose it depends on whether my mind is in eating mode, the scenic mode, or quilting mode. It's seldom out of the quilting mode, but that view is stunning.
I'm so envious of your time away from home!

Life is Good, isn't it? And may I just say, that photo with the trees in the background is a great photo of you!

Golly, Lorraine, I was there too and sort of met you the other night - I was in the group with Jodie and Annie talking to you three ladies after the lecture. Small world!

Never seen a Caeser salad served like that before! Interesting!!! Just been reading about the lecture on another blog, so glad you could rub shoulders!!! Gails is a shop I can spend hours and not a lot of $!!! Too hard to make decisions.
