Gotta love.......

....a day spent stitching...........!  Val hosted a stitching gtg for Claire, Shay, Kris and myself today - brilliant day....loads of fun/food/frivolity.....and we did solve most of the problems being encountered by mankind so I think it was a most successful day.  Kris was in Adelaide visiting family so it was a great chance to catch up......and Claire took her life in her hands and let me pick her up and drive her to Val's!  (and I got to meet Jack....once met - never forgotten!)

Val has some fantastic miniatures and I was just amazed at the work that has gone into these houses........I can see that it would be easy to get "hooked" on this very fascinating hobby!

A petit point "tapestry" on silk..........this is just one example of Val's amazing miniature work......

We were all very diligent with our stitching.....and there was a bit of "shantelle" (aka show and tell)...

Claire was busy with her berries...........

...patiently (?) waiting for pics of the finished berries.......

 ...Nice work.......

Claire "auditioning" orange as a colour for the dresden plate centres ......(I do wish Claire would lighten up a bit...she is always so serious..........)

Val worked on stitching the binding on a quilt (and finished it........)

We were also treated to a visit to Val's workroom........

....I have left my Gardener's Journal top with Val ........looking forward to seeing it quilted!  It was fun doing the StitchALong and getting the GJ quilt together.  I need to catch up on my Tis the Season blocks now....and my CW blocks......and..................well....suffice to say it's looking less like a gardening day and more like a stitching day tomorrow!

Here we are (minus Val who was playing photographer..........) I am pretty sure we were discussing something pretty serious here..........weren't we?

I got quite a bit of stitching done - even though Kris was once again by my side.....not distracting me........but actually stitching as well!  Didn't get pics of Kris or Shay's stitching.......what was I thinking...? Hardly good enough!

While I was out enjoying myself Rose was also having fun......a play date with Lexi......the lawn went down in Mark and Terri's back yard today so Lexi's assistance wasn't needed...I came home to a couple of very tired dogs!  Rose crashed on the couch and hasn't moved since Mark came to pick Lexi up.  She will sleep well tonight.

Daylight saving finishes at 2am tomorrow.......it will be lighter in the mornings but it will be dark when I get home from work so I won't be able to work in the garden after work......phhhhhhhhhhhht.....like that every happened!!  LOL

Gratitudes:
spending fun times with friends
having friends to spend fun times with
an extra hour of sleep tonight........(which means I can stay up way too late stitching and still get a good reasonable night's sleep.....)
Sundays

Hope your weekend is filled with fun, friends and frivolity.......

'til next time........................Lorraine

Claire modeling Dresden Plates is funny. They teach that, in making garments, to watch placement of design. I think she broke the rule!
Claire's applique project is wonderful! My style.
The doll house is something I have dreamed of having most of my adult life but never did anything about it. Kids to raise, you know and quilts to make. Those kinds of things to spend money on.

Sounds like a good time was had by all, I'm so happy daylight saving is ending, I need to go and put the clocks back now otherwise I'll forget.

Stitching with friends is the best! Especially if you are skilled at working with a needle while laughing at the same time :) Glad you all had a great time.

I think Val took that picture just as we came up with a fool proof solution for world peace among quilters if I recall correctly.

I always have a blast when I'm with you girls and it was so great to spend time with you all yesterday. Nothing like being among other crazy crafty people!

Great photos showing the group at work- the positioning of the dresden plates is priceless. You must have a lot of fun when you get together! That dollhouse looks fabulous and I imagine a lot of work has gone into getting it to that stage.

How fun you girls always have together! I like the mini's. A neighbor/fellow quilt guild member also does mini's and they are amazing!
