Yesterday was a cracker.....could also say....a corker....a pearler..yep.....perfect weather - sun shining....real warmth in it and a clear blue sky. Whilst some of Saturday was spent whiling away the day with household chores, a visit from a friend and some planning for a quilt most of the day I had my nose buried in this:
At around a thousand pages there is a lot to bury your nose in! Fascinating read! I put it aside yesterday though and spent some time working on a quilt for a friend's daughter.....
Not the best pics but by the time I got around to taking photos last night it was late.......I thought about going to bed but decided to do a blog post.....spent about an hour on it.....yep...pretty happy with it....I will just put a couple of links in......internet link dropped out and although Blogger said there was a saved draft.....they lied...it was just a blank page....how very annoying!! So I went to bed in a snit and thought this morning it might just be there for me to work on and publish.....Nah.....so it was back to square one.
Anyhoo..........
Yesterday before I hit the sewing room Rose and I went walking on the recently completed bike/walking trail in Angaston. It was great.......terrific views and easy walking.....here are a few pics:

One of the pieces of art along the trail.........this "guy" was quite life like from a distance....but Rose didn't really like him......she growled as we were walking up to the seat.......and she doesn't growl at anyone usually.......
..but after giving him a close look (and sniff) she decided he was OK and was happy to continue the walk.....
So that was the weekend.......quite productive really.........except for the "lost" blog post last night......oh.......if you get a chance hop over to see Linda at Gum Valley Patchwork......her wonderful hexi quilt, Dear Prudence, just won big time at the Melbourne Quilt and Craft Fair........!
Well done Linda - this quilt is amazing - I was lucky enough to see it in the "flesh" earlier in the year while Linda was still working on it......photos just don't do it justice.

Great walking trail. I am amazed at what spooks Coco, last night she was frightened of a weed blowing in the wind, it was hilarious, she also doesn't like car's at night the headlights spook her, doesn't bother about cars during the day though. We are off to dog training tonight should be interesting.
Love the quilt. I read Pillars of the Earth years ago I remember enjoying it, tried to read it again when the new one came out and I couldn't get into it (obviously wasn't in the mood) but I have a different mindset post children that sometimes affect what I am able to read.
I enjoyed Pillars of the Earth also (not a book to read in bed though, too heavy when it lands on your face as you fall asleep).
The walking trail looks lovely, I can see you taking a lot of photos there as the seasons change. I'm sure Rose will get used to the guy on the seat (if she was a male dog she would probably cock her leg on him)
I rented the movie Pillars of the earth. It was fantastic. Love your walking trail.

I love the guy on the seat, he looks like a relative of the girls in "Historic Marion" I had a sunshiny day yesterday as I drove to Adelaide. Bit too shiny for my liking! I am here now though. Actually holding Enid Lucy as I type this!

I'm always on the lookout for a book to suggest to hubbie. Do you think a guy would like it? I've heard of Pillars of the Earth, but I haven't read it, and I've only read comments from women.
Thanks for the views during your walk. In the 4th photo, is that an alpaca or llama in a field with sheep? Such a lovely countryside.

I agree that book is a good read- I wouldn't like to live way back then though-too tough!! You had great weather and what a great walk to go on, lovely views.
What a lovely walking trail! I'm so glad for you to have enjoyed it, and that your weather is cooperative! We're still suffering through such miserable heat that it keeps us fairly housebound! We will sure appreciate a break in the weather, though that may not yet come for several more weeks. Thanks for a heads-up on a new book to read.
the book looks interesting... how lucky are you with that walking trail, good incentive to walk and enjoy the scenery... I had a look at Linda's quilt, wow its gorgeous and the story behind it is lovely.
WOW - what a beautiful area to walk in - might even encourage this butt to get moving, lol. Glad Rosie made up with the tin man :). Nice to know she wants to protect you. The quilt is darling and happy :)

That walking track looks gorgeous, helps when the weather is pleasant! After a few nice days it is back to winter again!!
You've inspired me to do some excercies, that walking trail is simply beautiful. Good on Rosie for protecting her Mum, the tin man did look scary.
