All work and no play......

Well...that's probably not quite true.......I did get to play on the weekend.....but the weekends go so fast sometimes it seems like they don't even happen!  .........I think it's the same for all of us.

I did take some time on the weekend to watch the MotoGP (on TV) and see Casey win............maybe next year I will go to Phillip Island to see it....might see Lynda there!

While I was watching I made a start on Month 2 of Sue Daley's This Goes With That BOM......I am getting it from Hetties Patch in repro fabrics....

Not that I made much progress.....didn't want to miss any of the race.  I bought a "stable" tray which works a treat for stitching these hexies while watching TV.  ....well I guess it's more like listening to the TV really.

I also made a start on a baby quilt...one of the directors at work is going to visit her grandson in England and asked if I would make a quilt for him ......she leaves in a couple of weeks...so no pressure :)

I had no idea what to do and then saw  this Kaleidoscope quilt on Cardygirl's blog - it's a Cluck Cluck Sew pattern (love that name!).....gotta love patterns in PDF!  ......so after a bit of searching through the stash I came up with some fabric and started cutting.....laid out a few blocks ...and that was about it....it was time to stop and cook dinner for the kids .......I thought I would pick a couple of the prints that I really liked and make some random stars to highlight them......wasn't sure what to use for the background.....tried a couple of different ones and in the end stayed with the cream......

I should get the top finished this weekend.....and then I have to decide how to quilt it!

We had some rain last week and I wanted to get rid of the weeds while the ground was still soft.....so on Friday night after work I took advantage of daylight saving and weeded the front garden .....was very pleased with my efforts...I planned to get the back garden done as well.....but it was getting dark by the time I finished the front so left it for another day.  There is a limit!!!  Speaking of gardens....I didn't get around to  putting in any sweet pea plants this year....but had some self seeded ones come up from last year......I picked some and bought them inside...couldn't find a small vase so made do with a champagne glass.....

Couldn't find the marbles for the "vase" either....(there are some who would say they aren't surprised that I have lost my marbles....LOL)....so used some buttons....it works for me :)

I don't get to read as many blogs as I would like during the week...but I did read Chooky's post on GDITC...could this mean a road trip next March? I would think so!  Watch this space!

So it really isn't all work with no play.......I go to work....so I CAN play!

'Til next time..................Lorraine

I listened to Casey, followed by Mark, interspersed with commentary by the Mister. I just love it when plants self-seed like that, flowers with no effort :)
