A finish and some secret stitching.....

Stayed up late last night........watching Casey win the final race for the 2011 MotoGP season......he was about 9secs up at one stage and I thought I might go to bed.......but didn't....and what a finish!  It was worth staying up for. Before any racing got underway there was a tribute to Marco Simoncelli from riders/teams to say goodbye - a minute of noise.....his father thought that was appropriate.....then it was down to what they do best....race. Ciao Marco!

Apart from the bike racing I had a stitchy kind of weekend.......off to meet the girls on  Saturday for some "stitchin' and bitchin'" - lunch followed by some stitching - and I really had to do some stitching this time.....the SSCS deadline is in sight and as usual I have set myself a task of some proportion.....which means I am stitching every spare minute I get.

I interrupted the secret stitching to get the binding on the Kaleidoscope baby quilt which is leaving for the UK tomorrow.  Val did a great job of quilting it and getting it back to me late last week so I could get it finished. Thanks Val!

Here it is .....all done and ready to go to it's new home.   BTW this is not a huge quilt.....my clothes line is small!    Hanging out sheets is an interesting exercise......they have to be halved and hung over a few lines....but they get dry and that's the main thing!.....

A pic of the quilting....a plain back with variegated thread......

I have to say thanks to Cardy...I saw her Kaleidoscope quilt and ordered the pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew.  It went together really well and I will be making this one again......it turned out a bit "greener" than originally intended......that's because I made the mistake with cutting....I hope the recipient will love it.

A sneak peek of one of the pieces of secret stitching......

Having fun with making for this swap again....didn't take part last year.....had a year off from most things really....but this year I am back.

Almost time to go to work......beautiful morning.....too good to stay in bed thinking about going for a walk......LOL....so got up and did it!  Rose loves it...and so do I (once I get out of bed that is).

That's it from me for now.........it's off to work I go......(I owe...I owe...) you know how it goes.....LOL .....Not sure which one of the seven dwarfs I would be......no need to comment on that btw LOL

'Til next time....................Lorraine

The quilt came out lovely, (another one for my "one day" list) I'm enjoying going for walks too now that the weather is a bit nicer.

The quilt looks great and I love the secondary pattern of the big circles.

Yes, I really love, love, love that quilt. It is beautiful. The secret stitching looks lovely too. Very intriguing! As for which dwarf you would be, it would have to be "Lovely". (Can you tell I've never seen Snow White?)

Wonderful quilt. Quilt "portraits" outside are the best, aren't they? There's just a freshness to the photo, whether the quilt is on the line or over a fence or resting on a bench.

You've shamed me. I should get out and walk with my dogs too. But there's sewing to do!!! That's my story anyway. LOL

So many bloggers are doing secret stitching. I don't have to keep my projects secret as I am not saying exactly why or for whom I am making the items for. So, I will wait patiently to see your secret project knowing it will be a good one.
Lucky baby to be receiving such a pretty quilt.
