SSCS reveal...........and recap of Christmas 2011

I stayed up way too late on Christmas Eve and it was well into Christmas Day that I decided to call it a night (or morning!).....it wasn't until then that I was satisfied that all was in readiness for Christmas 2011.

First thing to do when I got up at 6am was to open my SSCS gift from Terry in the US......

Thanks so much Terry....I love it....and it won't be going away with the other Christmas quilts.....this one is going to stay out.  ...and thanks to Chooky for organising this swap over the past few years. I always look forward to joining in.

Time just to take a couple of pics of the swap pressie before loading the car and picking up Mark and Terri for the trip to Adelaide for Christmas catch ups.......Mark enjoyed some "breakfast" on the way....rehydrating I believe.......

Terri shared the back seat with the gifts for her nieces and nephews who we would be seeing later in the day.....

First stop was to catch up with Rhiannon and Mark's dad ....John.......

...and his Mum.....here are the kids with their beloved Yia Yia.........

John also bought me a great gift which I will share in another post.........

It was then time to head off to Rhiannon and Wade's house for lunch.........and an oyster shucking lesson for Mark.......Wade using his teaching skills on the rookie......

The "boys" got Nerf guns for Christmas....(as you do) and the girls had to play too.....btw no empty drink cans/bottles were harmed in the following pics.....

Well done to Rhi and Wade for hosting lunch.....Great job guys!!

Time for a pic of me with the kids before we loaded up the car again and made our third stop for the day (possibly only outdone by Santa himself the night before!)

My eldest son Shane was hosting lunch at his house....so I caught up with Jo-Anne as well.....not often all four kids are in the one place.......at the same time....so a pic was in order........

It was also great to catch up with all five grandies as well.........Ryley is quite the little model and wanted her picture taken with her Aunty Rhi.......

.. on her own........

and with her brother and cousins.......

Fourth stop for the day was to Terri's parents for dinner and catch up with her family........more turkey and pudding and a lovely relaxing evening!  Mark jumped into the driver's seat for the trip home...and by 10.30 I was tucked up in bed after a fantastic Christmas day.

Today is Boxing Day.....and I have no plans......don't have to be anywhere......at any particular time - a real luxury for me as my days are usually very structured.  Showering and changing out of my PJs are options I won't be taking up today....Breakfast was Special K...(good start right......) followed by Maltesers left over from making Malteser slice.....which I took with me yesterday - luckily for me I didn't bring any home or it would have formed part of breakfast!!

Haven't had lunch yet but am thinking it might be Christmas cake....LOL   I made these to take as gifts yesterday......and kept one for myself......because I LOVE me some Christmas cake......I also saved a couple of mince pies as well........Yummo!

The only stitching that has been done lately was a few of these little bags I made for work mates.....they were given with bags of Angas Park goodies......

Have been watching the cricket and start of the Sydney/Hobart (yacht) race.......and enjoying my slothfulness! I do need to get some house stuff done ....but not today!  the only thing I will do is clean off the dining table to set up my Christmas / New Year jigsaw (courtesy of Rhiannon and Wade).  Catching up with friends later in the week and the kids are planning a visit home so my time off work will be most enjoyable. Looking forward to it......and the New Year.....may 2012 be the best year ever!

'Til next time....................Lorraine

It sounds like the perfect day Loz. All your kids in one place , great eats and a water fight.

I stayed in my pj's until 5 pm Boxing day and only got dressed because we had people coming for dinner...today may be a completely different story.

Such a busy, busy day, and after that you definitely are ready for slothfulness and total relaxation. It's been earned. Family time and going here and there for food and fellowship--such a wonderful time you had.
The lovely little bags look like the snap ones made with the tape measure in the top. Sweet!
Season's greetings from a few miles/km away.
