This weekend was very social with visitors of both the human and doggy kind! Lexi came for a sleep over and as usual the girls played long and hard.......an old sock bound for the bin became their favourite thing for a while.........
Then it was time to retire to their own "corners" for a nap......they were either going full on or sleeping...there wasn't any in between for them...!
While the girls slept I got myself organised to host the Stitch n' Bitch girls on Saturday for lunch and and afternoon of stitching.....
I put together a Quinoa salad which was delicious.......
This afternoon I decided I needed to get some stitching done so once the kids had gone home I parked myself in the sewing room and got started......! First cab off the rank was this little needle holder from Gail Pan....big bonus was that when I unpacked the little kit I had for it I found that the stitchery was already done - I did it while I was in Melbourne late last year.....and had forgotten about it.....was very happy with this finish..it's cute!
The finishes didn't stop there......I had these bags cut out and ready to go before Christmas.....and now they are done! Into the "present box" they go......
Time I was in the sewing room again....I need to iron a shirt for tomorrow......and then get some sleep so I can be up early for a walk with Rose. I must admit to some very late nights/early mornings while I have been on leave.......so it's back to some more sensible hours now......oooops .....too late.....LOL
For those who are still on holiday .....enjoy! I will be thinking of you when I head off to the office in the morning..oh......one thing I haven't finished is the jigsaw.....it has been neglected for the last couple of days but I will get to it......although it might be still there at Easter at the rate I am going!
'Til next time...................Lorraine

Finishes are such a wonderful way to start the year! :-)
What a great thing to find your stitchery already done! It is adorable (just like the pups :))
Two weeks of holidays, gosh that would be absolute bliss. I don't think I've had that since I was in high school! Glad you've filled it with fun, food, family, and finishes!
a great weekend then huh Lorraine...
The girls are so sweet especially sleeping!!! You were busy yesterday, love your finishes!! Good luck going back to work today!
I'm back to work today too. I was planning on a walk this morning but we went for one yesterday and my foot is really sore today (heel spur). So I am icing it instead and will go for a walk this afternoon when I get home. The needle case looks lovely. I think I need a present box for when I am feeling enthusiastic in the sewing room instead of leaving it till the last minute like I usually do. Well I suppose I had better head to the shower and get this show on the road.
have fun back at work - I have 2 weeks off in July and have to admit I'm planning my days already - BUT at least you have some finishes that you can show off. The girls are just like the kids when we have visitors it's all or nothing..BTW hows the SKOW stitch-along going? Have you started the Farmers Wife yet?

What a lovely weekend to finish off your holiday and a great start to your sewing year.
Very cute stitchery, Gail Pan's designs are lovely. I really like the purses too, do they have the "old tape measure" closing in them? Just dont appear to have zips thats all? I have started the edge of my jigsaw, no size on the box so now discovering its not going to fit on my table...so it might not get done at all! Hope first day back at work is full of good surprises!
The fury babies are having fun..love all your projects..have fun at work...
What a great way to start your present stash.
Yay!!! You found the sewing room! And it all looks great!
whow Lorraine what lovely finishes you have there, well done.
I feel your pain - I go back to work tomorrow...........but I have finished my jigsaw!!!
Beautiful doggies !
I hope today wasn't too brutal. Going back to work is always exhausting !
One of my goals for this year is to have a few handmade gifts on hand for birthdays and other occasions. Those bags look like just the ticket!
Ummmmmm some of us still have 4 weeks until we go back to work ...I probably will have forgotten what it is that I do by then !
Hope your day back at work wasnt too exhausting - and Shay! Stop bragging!!!

Love you blog header Lorraine. The sentiment is lovely. Have a good weeK!
Isn't it nice to finish up a few unfinishes? The needlecase is pretty, and those Snapbags... well, I've made a few of those myself, and they're great. I hope your work week isn't too taxing.
