Another Sunday................

I know I have said this before....but Sundays seem to come around really fast.....I have spent today getting organised for the week ahead....some household chores and cooking.....have made all my meals for the week and the freezer is packed full of goodness.....this time of year when it's dark (and cold) when I get home from work it's nice to have a meal in the freezer all ready to pull out and re-heat......

During the week we held our 'Biggest Morning Tea' in aid of Cancer research and this year we had a "bake off" just to add some interest to the event......it turns out we have some seriously talented cooks in our office .......here are the winners in the "sweet" category......a sticky date cake with strawberries and caramel sauce.......

and lemon meringue tarts.......

we also had a "best presented purchased sweet"........the winner was this clever adaptation of small chocolate muffins with a biscuit base and licorice for handles....

I didn't make any of the above.....I made my old favourite ....well it's Peg's actually .....Malteser slice.....and some of it even made it to the morning tea LOL

Last night I ventured into "enemy territory" when I went to the Crows v Collingwood match in Adelaide.........Collingwood supporters were of course in the minority....but we had cause to celebrate (and we did) with a win!  Fireworks were added to the usual running through the banner for the Crows players.....Collingwood players were warming up downwind.........*cough cough*

....the boys walking back from thanking their cheer squad and fans after the game...the stands certainly empty out pretty quickly! In fact I think some fans must have been on parking meters which were about to expire as they left the ground half way through the last quarter........surely it wouldn't have been because their team was losing ....No.......

We had some guys sitting directly behind us who had quite possibly the loudest voices I have ever heard.....they were hilarious and kept us entertained all through the game.......not sure who was the designated driver and I hope they got to Hove .....there was quite an ongoing discussion about where it was and how they were going to get there....boys!!

During the week my Mothers' Day pressie from Mark and Terri arrived.......Love the Royal Mail sticker.....fitting for a Princess of course!  Rose had previously sent an email to Mark suggesting something from the V&A may be an appropriate gift....LOL......and lo.....looked what arrived....thanks guys ...I love it!   An address book with colour plates of CFA Voysey's work.....stunning!

I will just pencil their address in ....I am sure it will change a couple of times while they are in London.

well.....not much else happening here......I have some hand stitching prepped to get on with tonight.....I didn't manage to get into the sewing room this weekend.....maybe next weekend!

'Til next time........................Lorraine

Lovely sweets there! How fun.

I've never been able to get it in gear enough to cook for a week. Plus my DH cooks a lot these days. Yesterday it was all three meals--spoiled am I!

Glad you had constant entertainment at the game. I think its terrible when fans leave the game early, demoralizes the players surely.

Lovely pressies!

Crows Collingwood hey. It would have been more entertaining if it had been Port LOL. Very yummy post though.

Oh yes, Sundays just come around so fast. Was thinking of you as the game played out on Saturday night, you would have been very happy indeed, well deserved win.

I just checked out the Malteser Slice recipe, yummo, maybe a recipe to try next weekend :)

The bake off results look delicious! I did a bit of baking on the weekend too and managed to put some away in the freezer for those nights I don't feel like making anything!

Let's not talk about the football....Mr. P was disgusted. He still isn't over it.

LOVE those baked goods but especially that tea cup . Very creative!
