A finish................

Yet another weekend draws to a close.........I spent some time with the girls at Cheryl's yesterday...then off to do the grocery shopping and home to crank up the heater and settle in for the evening.  I stayed up to watch Black Caviar win at Royal Ascot.......it was worth waiting up for.....and a win is a win....doesn't matter how close it is in the end......!  Mark and Terri skyped last night - it was great to see them.  Not long now until they head off for their holiday in Europe......then back to save some more money for their next trip.

It was a bit of a slow start this morning and given it was freezing outside I decided to stay in bed for a while and play a bit of Words with Friends and check emails and blogs......Rose, having none of those distractions was waiting patiently for me to get up!

I carried on the cooking theme from last weekend and did a slow cooker chicken casserole.....although I was annoyed that I had picked up chicken thigh cutlets instead of thigh fillets.....so after taking most of the meat off the bones I threw them (the bones) into a saucepan with some vegies and made chicken stock which became the base for this chicken and vegie soup....

So lunches and dinners taken care of for a few days!

I made a batch of scones and didn't have any lemonade so used some raspberry I had on hand.....so raspberry scones it is.....LOL....they taste the same.....they are just pink!

I tried out a recipe for these biscuits with sprinkles......thought they were a bit bland so joined them together with frosting.......these three were left after I put the others in the freezer......

That was about it for the baking today.......so after I had finished playing in the kitchen and had tidied up and done the dishes I went into the sewing room to play.............here is Rhi's quilt ready for the seams to be snipped.........

..........and a final inspection from Rose before it goes into the washer and dryer ..........

LOL  she probably thinks it is hers......although she has pretty much taken over mine!  That look says it all!  I am sure she will be pleased when I finish this post, do the dinner dishes and come to watch TV with her......

Speaking of TV......I will be getting quite a bit of hand stitching done over the next few weeks.....with Wimbledon, Tour de France and the Olympics coming up!  A few late nights I suspect!

'Til next time.......................Lorraine

I love, love, love this time of year! It meant new jumpers when I was young. My mum would knit, knit, knit all through Wimbledon. Watching tv & knitting, and I would feel so cosy! Looking forward to it myself.

The pink scones look very pretty indeed. I forgot about Wimbledon, that means more late nights, lucky I have plenty of stitching to keep me awake :)
