It's been a while.....................

Where to start........the past few weeks have flown by......and it's an age since I wrote a "proper" post...........

A few weeks ago Rhiannon and Wade bought a house...they move this weekend....a long weekend and the middle weekend of the school holidays.......perfect timing (since they are both teachers)...... except that someone has an end of season footy trip!  So with everything packed the removalists will take over on Friday while Rhi and I supervise.....girls on the move LOL  I am sure Rhi will have the new house in order by time Wade gets home.

The rest of my weekend will be spent turning these into a couple of shaggy quilts to send over to London......

All from my stash!!  ...I think they will be appreciated when winter sets in!  Mark and Terri are back from their summer break in Europe and working hard to fund the next travel adventure.  Skyped on the weekend and they both look well and happy......I love skype!

I have managed to finish one little project over the past few weeks...(which doesn't mean I haven't started more than one!!)....this little pockety-folder thingy.........I was looking for a small project that wouldn't take forever to finish.......

and look it even has a pen.......might come in handy one day..............being the chronic list make that I am! ..and it could also make a nice gift for someone........

Speaking of time passing....how fast is the countdown to GDITC going!  Yikes down to under 180 days now!  Looking forward to catching up with everyone again.

A couple of years ago I participated in loads of swaps and always seemed to be making something to post off to someone else.....Not sure why, but I have only signed up for a couple since then.....and earlier this year I signed up for the Christmas Angel swap with Mrs Martins Quilt Shop.....seemed simple enough......just make things over the next few months and post them off at the end of the year .....yep......so why is it that I have left it until now to think about it? All good.....still a few weeks to go!  LOL.....and I have got out the patterns for the things I am going to make...that's a start ...right??  I work best to deadlines......

It's official....with the Spring Solstice  now passed it  means that the days are longer than the nights......nice to get home from work in daylight.....and with daylight saving starting in a couple of weeks we will have even more daylight at the end of the day for all those things like ..........gardening....Bahahahahahahaha......maybe walking Rose......probably not gardening!

the bees have been busy in the garden though........

and these blossoms have been replaced by leaves.........

I went to visit Cheryl the other day and on the way home couldn't resist stopping to take this pic ......the Canola certainly brightens up the landscape!

Rose in one of favourite spots now that the sunny weather has arrived........just checking out what is going on outside....and always ready for a walk. Her other favourite spot is on the lounge curled up on a quilt........

Footy season is all but over...with just the Grand Final to come this weekend.....since the team I follow isn't playing this weekend I will be able to watch the game with no stress......during the season we have a footy tipping competition at work.....I never trouble the leaders and usually end up in the middle of the pack somewhere....but I did win this trophy this year to put on my cupboard in the office........yep....it's a cricket trophy....we don't take things too seriously!  :)  One of the criteria for tipping each week is to pick the points margin for the Friday night game....I won the trophy for having the lowest points margin for the season......my strategy is simple....I use the same number each week (Mark's footy number)....lucky that most of the games didn't have huge winning margins........his number is 11.!!

Time I was getting some sleep...

'til next time......................Lorraine

Nice to use the stash, right? I'm sure the warmth will be appreciated. The kids are always on the go--hope Rhi is near you since London is far :) Spring has come for you and we are having the shorter days now, but it has been really hot and humid this last two month period--unusual for us. Hope it has all gone away by the time you get here! Rose has the right idea by the doorway :)

Lots of sewing there to keep you busy. Yes the days are lovely....dry grass in the mornings is a pleasant change. Isn't that a travel wallet??...planning a trip, just maybe??......lol......

All us bloggers seem to be busy at the pointy end of the year. Great updates on the going on at your end of the woods. Love that spring is almost here and lots of colour is coming back into our surroundings.

Good to see you back. Life just gets in the way of stitching sometimes. Good to use up the stash (but does it ever really diminish?) on cuddly raggy quilts. I like the travel wallet without all the travel stuff on it - a lot of uses there. It will be GDITC again before we know it, I can't wait either.

I gave up on doing the swap a couple of years ago, I got too stressed about them, they're not for everyone I think. Lovely pic of the canola and vines - make a good quilt maybe?
Congrats on winning the tropy for the lowest margin, I usually pick 24 as my margin sometimes it works more often not, but it's fun.

I love Amanda's "pointy end of the year" comment! Makes the post seem like an authentic footy post! Your shaggy flannel squares look like they will be awesome quilts! Brad took a myriad of canola photos when he drove to Adelaide last week, and is so in love with them! (You two must be twins, separated at birth!lol!)

What exactly is a shaggy quilt?

I've just had my sewing machine repaired and I'm giving thought to maybe sewing something. Or trying to sew something. What? I have no idea. But I paid a lot for the repairs, so I feel I should use the machine.
