So that was Christmas......now for the New Year....

It's been a big week!  Christmas day was spent with Rhiannon and Wade....we were up early talking to Mark and Terri on Skype...then it was present opening time followed by  breakfast and a trip to the beach then home for lunch ........

I headed home late in the afternoon and picked up Rose from her sleepover with Lexi.......although I don't think they spend much time sleeping when they are together!

The days since then have been busy.....

Breakfast (after a visit to the quilt shop for some essentials...I had a quilt to finish and had run out of batting.......)

I received some mail..........actually the mail was received before Christmas......

Kris sent me this most excellent bunting and a hand carved Santa made by one of her talented children.....thanks Kris!!

Lenora and I both have birthdays in December and I received this parcel of goodness a couple of days after my birthday (but still within the Festival of Loz!) Thanks Lenora!!

Lunch with friends...............

Then on to some serious stitching time on the sewing room...........

Rose was a bit miffed she wasn't allowed to help.....

Pinning.....

Machine quilting.......

Some binding......

Into the wash........

..and out into the sun and breeze to dry....

This little quilt was made for one of Rhiannon's friends who recently had a little girl...it is now in its new home being loved!

I have also been spending a bit of time on this years jigsaw.......well chosen by Rhiannon bearing in mind my recent visit to London.....the Tower Bridge...and it is a "glow in the dark" puzzle....

I have spent today in the sewing room working on some secret squirrel stitching for a get together with the girls on Saturday........using some fun fabric I bought in New York....

So as a new year is on the threshold I would like to wish everyone all the very best for 2013.........and leave you with a few pics from Christmas 2012....

A pic of the little nativity one day...........

....and after a particularly hot day.......LOL.

Happy New Year!!

'Til next time...................Lorraine

Looks like you spent your Christmas days the best way, family, fun, fabric, and food! The candles are too funny. Get together with the girls, hmm, hope those Oreos didn't melt too!

Happy new year, what a sweet baby quilt. Loving your Jim Shore collection and going off to write my 2013 letter to Santa now to remember to ask for a JS deco and a jigsaw! DH got me a board game actually and it was also perfect entertainment for the adults post lunch...well those of us who were not napping!

Lol, your candle looks a bit rude! We had one do that when we lived in a hot box of a house in Paringa. Hasn't happened here on the peninsula in our big old stone home.

It's apparent you had a really nice Christmas. There's no better place to be than with family! Your machine quilting is quite lovely, Loz. I can see you have a talent for it. Continue to enjoy, and have a wonderful 2013.

Happy New Year to you Loz! It's been so cold and dreary here and I'm thinking the beach sounds so much nicer. :-)

Christmas at the beach. Does it get any more Aussie than that?

Lunch at Barossa Valley Estate looks scrumptious. I love lunches that start off like that with a little bit of everything that tickles the taste buds.

LOVE that baby quilt. Gorgeous!

All the best to you for the new year Loz. Looking forward to making some stitchy memories with you again this year.
