Social Sunday

Gosh...where to start.....talk about the best laid plans .....the last couple of weeks have slipped by in the blink of an eye...of course that is ridiculous - it couldn't possibly happen....but it sure does seem like the time has gone that quickly......

Since talking to you last I have been to Shay's house for a stitching gtg....of course the package from Annie that I bought back for Shay was handed over (intact!) and Shay was pretty happy to have those Oreos in her hot little hands (another ridiculous saying)......

....she even shared a couple of these with us!!!

I love also that Shay is such a good Bella......when little P was given some Oreos recently she confiscated some (most??) of them to save him from sugar over load and the problems that can cause......oh the sacrifices we make!

Annie also sent a little hand made gift for Shay......

Tazzie was at the gtg along with "Mrs Billings".....now when you look at this next pic you have to remember that this was a week ago......the way this woman works this top is probably finished and quilted by now.......

Some of Tazzie's hexies for Mrs Billings' next border .......

We take our own lunch to these stitching days but as usual there were plenty of healthy foods to share for afternoon tea.........

hmmmm.....lets have a closer look at that interesting looking dish with the chocolate and .....(naturally)....Oreos dipped in pink chocolate and re-dipped in.....

.....of course......red sugar.......!!!

ok...ok....while I might have resisted these initially I must confess to taking three home with me for 'ron.......that would be "Later on" or 'ron for short......and they lasted three days!

Not much to report on during the week (except for the sugar high for the first three days!)...I did go to the optician for my bi-ennial check up.....and of course I need new gla$$e$......which took me forever to pick out....I should have them by the end of next week....I hope I still like them by then :)

Work is busy......and just seems to get busier.....but it's a job I love so it's not a problem to get up and go there each day.  Speaking of getting up......I have been walking every morning with Rose...she keeps me motivated.......nothing like 10kgs of Cocker Spaniel launching herself at the bed at 6am to get you motivated.......and I must admit I am loving being up at that time of day to catch the sunrise....which is getting a little later every day as we slowly inch our way towards Autumn.....no one has told Summer that it is on the way out yet....still hangin' in there with hot day after hot day......and we really need rain now!  more flooding on the east coast - not a drop of rain here....

This was in my hoop at Shay's house.......I have started on some gifts for the girls in my stitching group........Christmas gifts ........so I have given myself plenty of time this year.

Meanwhile......Denise and Claire tried out the antique Feathered Star quilt for comfort........

So I am finally up to today....Sunday......Social Sunday as it turned out.......

This morning I caught up with Diana for coffee......Diana's son David is currently in Europe with Mark and most the the photos we have seen have featured the boys and some form of alochol.....and occasionally some pretty unhealthy looking food like a giant pizza-sized schnitzel.......(come on our sugar dipped Oreos were way healthier than that!!)....we stuck to coffee and gave the cake a miss.....I think the boys could well take a leaf out of our book..... :)  I am sure they are having a great time though.....Terri has taken the sensible option and stayed in London - the boys are on their own....yikes......!!  (btw they are referring to themselves in some of their posts as "roosters".....I guess that makes us the "old chooks"...)

On the way home I stopped in to see some puppies.......they are about 4 weeks old now.....and are ever so cute.....all of them are going to good homes in a few weeks time......

 top and tailing puppy style.....

This is a proud Aunty looking on and making sure  the puppies are ok......from a distance of course.....Mum doesn't like her getting too close and interfering........ ;) Look at that face...!!

Also on the way home I stopped to take a couple of pics ....I love these old gnarled vines.....

'Til next time..............................Lorraine

Oh. And there's no rain here. For the first summer since we moved here the grass is brown.

Lorraine, Somehow along the blog-way I lost your blog, it could have been back when I switched from my old one ("Cootie Bug Connie") to this newer one that I now use. At one time we used to swap an email occasionally. Anyway, now that I found you again I wanted to stop in and say hello and let you know I'm once again reading your blog. :) :) :)
So glad I found you again!

Oh my gosh that quilt is something - a true family treasure when it's done. That would take me forever lol. Looks like a great day spent with friends - doesn't get much better than that.

Great pics of Shay, Lorraine! Glad you were all in on the fun and had a wonderful time. The sugar high had nothing to do with the spirit amid friendship and stitching :)

Keeping busy is your motto, no? Sounds like all is well.
