Easter Stitching Day.....

....it was a fun day at Country Hart.  I left at sparrow's fart this morning for the drive up to Pt Pirie.....fabulous morning for a drive.......once the radio reception petered out I cranked up the iPad with Mumford and Sons and Pink (amongst others)....so the time went quickly.....

Hmmmmmm......cute pink/white striped goody bags awaited us ...along with.......

Yep...they would be bunny ears!  Anyone who knows me knows that I don't "do" hats....but did don the bunny ears in the spirit of the day!  there was also chocolate on offer so what's a girl to do?

The day started with an Easter egg hunt - the eggs had our fabric in them (obviously they were plastic and hollow.......!) I think it was also a ploy by Robyn to make sure we had a good look around in the shop!

By the time we had each found our eggs/fabric it was time for morning tea.......what is a stitching day without some goodies?!

The project for the day was an Easter table mat......here is mine....

Oh....ok...that's Robyn's sample....cute though...hey!  Here is my effort for the day.....

Do you like my little offsider there...?  I just unpacked my basket when I got home and he was in there.....oooops!  not sure how that happened.....!  As you can see the eggs are appliqued on and I have made a start on stitching the flowers.....still some decorating of the eggs and the rest of the stitching to do......but thought it was a reasonable effort since one had to stop for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and the occasional  wander in the shop.....

Robyn was busy on FB uploading pics......I think there is even one of me with my bunny ears on.....Yikes!!    ......two can play at that little game Robyn.....

I did make an observation during the day......I think stitching days are the only time you will find a group around an ironing board eagerly waiting to get to it!

Well....that's about it from me for this week....I have a couple of finishes but they are secret squirrel things I can't show yet.......It is almost time for Elementary......and I can't miss that.  I watched the last in the current series of The Paradise last night....ahhhhone can only hope there is a Series 2!

'Til next time..........................Lorraine

Darling mat--love the combo of stitchery and applique. Sounds like a really fun day. Ironing board rush hour with bunny ears is pretty funny!

The project is gorgeous! Disappointed I couldn't make it, but Mums 60th had to come first. The cupcakes are possibly more gorgeous than the mat!
