It seems Sunday is blogging day!

It seems as though I end up blogging on a Sunday in the late afternoon early evening......once everything is done for the day and I am getting ready for Sunday night stitching in front of the TV.  This weekend has been another social one for me....out both days! Yikes!

Yesterday was spent with the girls from the "Not the Farmer's Wife Quilt" group.....don't get me wrong it's a lovely quilt...but none of us is actually working on it now!   Tazzie doesn't have to work on hers because it's finished - of course :)  (check Tazzie's blog for a Mrs Billings update!)

Claire has her daughter and son in law and their gorgeous boy Seth staying with them and Seth was very popular with everyone yesterday.  I am sure he is going to be a quilter as Claire has been indoctrinating him on a daily basis......here he is with his "rotary cutter" in the interests of child safety all metal bits have been removed from this one - but he still likes to "cut" his fabric.....

here is a quilt he prepared earlier......oh...ok....Claire did it......but he helped!  Flowerdale by Gail Pan....love it!

I didn't take many photos this weekend.....too busy chatting and stitching  ......Claire prepared this for us to snack on.......who can resist chocolate and strawberries...with cream of course! Yum!

When I got home late yesterday afternoon I was pleased I had been out all day as the neighburs were using sledge hammers to break up the concrete in their yard.....and then throw it into a skip in their driveway.....so listening to that for the couple of hours  that it went on after I got home was quite enough (I am sure it will be lovely when it's finished - whatever it is they are doing!)

I did manage to get a pic of the Love BOM with the borders on......love the way it turned out...and ever so nice to get an "almost" finish..not sure if I will hand or machine quilt this one.

This (and the red shoes block) are my favourites I think.....

Today I caught up with a friend for breakfast (which continued on until after midday) then called in to see Cheryl for a cuppa and chat before coming home to start/finish the household chores ......all done now and all set for another working week.....the EPP project is nearing completion.....and I should have that finished this week...I have also started another stitchery (because I can) for when I get tired of working on the stars.  I find stitching in the evenings helps to stop me raiding the pantry for late night snacks....I said it helps...doesn't stop it completely  :)  A girl has to have something with her cuppa in the evening.

Not much else happening in the Land of Loz......back to work tomorrow - can't believe how fast this year is going.....two weeks until Easter and March will be but a memory!

'Til next time.................Lorraine

Even if Seth doesn't become a quilter he will be an appreciator of quilts! Your BOM is quite lovely, beautiful subtle colours and stitcheries.

Claire still has her daughter and grandson over?! Wow, she's so lucky she gets to spend so much time with them. He's very cute and obviously enjoys playing with fabric as much as his Nanna does!

OMIgosh, the photo with the baby holding the cutter stopped my heart for a moment--thanks for pointing out that the blades were removed!! Too cute. His grandma's quilt is GORGEOUS, as is your finished stitchery top! So glad you are perking along with your stitching and piecing :) Raiding the pantry is far too common around here, but only the area that holds the sweets, lol!

The Love BOM quilt is gorgeous Loz. I haven't touched my yoyos since Saturday. Been far too busy doing other things.

That cake was yum!

Love the almost finish. I agree the year seems to be whizzing by.

The border looks great, nearly there now! Cannot say that I am a hand quilter, but I do think this would benefit from hand quilting....more evening work for the winter? Do you have a brand of needles you prefer for hand piecing? Your social life sounds good...extended breakfast, chocolate cake with strawberries, hmmm, yum!

I was a little concerned when I saw the rotary cutter, glad you clarified.

You are so right about the pantry raiding - driving me nuts lately because I just don't feel like stitching. So many lovely goodies, including the very cute Seth. Weekends are the best.
