Sunday Funday......

Hmmm....that blog title isn't strictly true....most of today has been spent being a domestic goddess but the effort did pay off and the house looks great!

the girls were here for stitching yesterday and I cooked a vegetarian lasagne for lunch.....it was easy and turned out to be edible which is half the battle.....unfortunately the pics of the finished dish didn't turn out so I will have to make do with a pic of some of the ingredients before cooking!

I found the recipe here (funnily enough on vegetarianlasagne.net)  there are loads more recipes I would like to try...I made the open lasagne with roast vegetables and basil.....it was delicious!  For dessert I served greek style yoghurt and fresh strawberries.......makes a nice change from triple dipped Oreos ....and probably better for us

Lovely to catch up with the girls...I have been stitching some Leanne Beasley designs and continuted on with those....

I bought a Natalie Bird pattern from Country Hart and while I watched The Paradise last night on the ABC I made a start on some of the six pointed stars.....Oh EPP how I have missed thee!  Very happy with the ones I have made so far.......pics next time.....

After making like a domestic goddess for most of today I did find some time to put together one block from the Natalie Bird Love BOM.....love the way it is looking .....have most of the stitchery blocks trimmed ready to go next time I find some time at the machine....next weekend is a long weekend so I am sure I will be able to find some time then.....

The other night I heard loud banging and crashing coming from the laundry......could not work out what it was until Miss Rose came trotting in to the lounge with this stick......given it was quite a bit wider than the doggy door she must have had a bit of trouble getting in with it...hence the commotion.....

speaking of Rose.......she and I love our early morning walks - she is a very social girl with not a mean bone in her body.....and I am pretty sure she expects that all other dogs are the same.....hmmmmm....not so with some of the snappy yappy little dogs we meet ......she never gives up though and every morning when we meet the three little dogs aforementioned she makes the effort to say hello.......(even though I explain to her that they are mean nasty litte critters)....and every morning they make like they are going to be nice and in the end snap and snarl and yap.....she always looks so hurt.....but that doesn't last long and she is soon back to her sunny bouncy self....while the others yap off into the distance.....with their equally snappy owners......a smile and a "good morning" isn't so hard....is it?? Perhaps we will walk a different way this week......

'Til next time.........................Lorraine

Well the pre-cooked ingredients look very colourful...we’ll take your word that the vegie lasagne was edible.

Ive been watching The Paradise too – Im loving it ! (Have last nights ep all queued up to watch on Ipad )

Rose is a darling – she just hasn’t worked out yet that not all dogs are as adorable as she is.

Sounds like a perfect weekend: friends, good food, some needle time and Miss Rose!

I love your photos Loz. Just beautiful! I feel sad now for Rose. It's a shame she comes across such disagreeable dogs. (And owners. They say dogs become like their owners, or owners become like their dogs or something like that! Must be why Rose is such a sweerheart!) Hope your week is as lovely as your weekend was. (We can hope!)

Love EPP, so good in front of the telly, but I prefer Downton Abby! those diamonds look very tiny, but cute. I love the block, sure you will whip up something amazing on the long weekend. Annoying when chores get in the way of sewing!

The lasagne sounds yum, good to see lots of stitching being done... poor Rosie who wouldn't want to talk to such a beautiful girl... thank heavens we don't have a doggy door, Archie has a stick about 5' long and it's a big enough worry when he's outside with it... hate to think about it coming inside...lol...

Coco is the same and i have to look at a lot of dog body language before I even attempt to let them get close. One idiot had his snappy dog on one of those extended leads and let it run up to Coco and snap, lets just say I was less than impressed poor Coco didn't know what hit her. I usually give most dogs a wide birth as she is a bit to bouncy.

Doing catch up here. Bella and I have been doing lots of walking . Am still missing Molly more than I could imagine. Bella is like me I am a thin person trapped in a large persons body and she is a Rottweiler trapped in a Jack Russell's body. She is improving and is much friendlier without Molly.
