All quiet on the home front.......

Things have been pretty quiet here at Chez Loz......no reason - it's just the way of it sometimes.  Plenty of time spent hand stitching while I watch various sporting activities on TV......tonight I am spoilt for choice with the Tour, the cricket and also MotoGP.

We have had some amazing sunrises/sunsets lately and I have captured a few on my phone while I have been out walking with Rose - tonight wasn't as speccy as some we have had but still lovely light.

The mornings have been very "brisk" and a couple of mornings I have thought about ignoring the alarm and just staying in bed and keeping warm, but Rose is pretty persistent and doesn't like to miss out on her walk - which is a good thing! Once I get going the fresh air is very bracing and I always feel better for getting out and about.

I woke up yesterday and looked at my trackies and comfy warm clothes on the end of the bed and thought it would be nice to just mooch about at home but decided when you feel a bit low the best thing to do is ........well.....shop!  So I got up, showered and dressed and headed out for some retail therapy.  Mind you there is a limit to what I had to spend so it was pretty minor therapy in the scheme of things.....but it worked!

First stop was Jenny's in Angaston for a piece of binding fabric for a secret squirrel project I am working on......I think one of these pieces should suffice.....

I also picked up this book - have browsed through it several times and there are a lot (101 actually) of lovely projects but don't hold your breath about me making one of them any time soon...there are two projects on my "have to do" list that I need to start (and finish...) but it's fun looking at the pics in the meantime.....

Then it was off to my favourite place for some brunch (I must admit I did stay in bed way too long for it to be breakfast!) but it was crowded and I didn't feel like doing crowds so I ventured to another of my favourite haunts which just happens to be located in a shop full of lovely homewares and furniture and I have a voucher from my sister to spend.......

I didn't end up spending the voucher but I did order something which I will take delivery of in a few weeks - it involved picking out yet more fabric and I will share with you when it arrives.  Really looking forward to that day!

So I arrived home in a much better frame of mind than when I left......and finished off the secret squirrel stitching with a couple of weeks to spare so now I can concentrate on these little beauties from Amitie...their Bring me Flowers BOM.....loving the hand piecing and the fabrics......here is my tray all set up next to the lounge ready to go again......I have to make sure it is put away each night as Rose is very partial to spools of thread and who knows what else might take her fancy........that pincushion looks pretty inviting!

And last, but by no means least, I have finished stitching the binding down on the gift that Cardy made for me while I was visiting a few weeks ago....love this and it will remind me of her and the great time we had in the States last year.......and can I say...for someone who dislikes binding as much as Cardy does, she has been on a binding spree of late......

This next week is a busy one so I am looking forward to the end of it already - yikes, no wonder the year is flashing by in what seems like an instant!!

'Til next time.........................Lorraine

Love seeing what you are up to! The mug rug looks fabulous...especially now it is bound! May it be a happy reminder of the fun you, Lea and I had in the US of A!

The mug rug is a lovely souvenir of your great holiday (and friends). Your handpiecing is beautiful - the fabrics and wonderful and so are the black and white fabrics.

I love that mug rug! Its awesome. Must tell Cardy she can send me her binding jobs. I actually like binding.

Sometimes we just have to go out and do the retail therapy thing. Its helpful for pulling us out of the doldrums!

HI! Lorraine .I think you found good things with the retail therapy. The book looks great. Every time you use the mug rug good memories with a cuppa.
I am ready for the cricket Thursday night with my knitting at the side of my lounge.
