Mark celebrated his birthday on Wednesday and as I had a work conference the next day I ventured down to the city and stayed overnight......Not as far as I had to go last year to celebrate with him!
Here he is last Sunday - reunited with Lexi who was very pleased to see them both.......
When I haven't been at work I have been in my sewing room....well, that isn't strictly true because I have been working on several different projects at a frenetic pace..(well......frenetic for me), the sewing room has become a bit of a mess, and I have moved the sewing machine and cutting paraphernalia out to the kitchen/dining room. Last Saturday I sewed all day.....housework took a bit of a back seat I'm afraid, but I was pleased with my efforts.....starting with lots of cutting.......some sewing......followed by lots of trimming (the BlocLoc ruler really is one of the best things I have ever bought!)
more sewing......
Still more trimming......
a bit more sewing.....two blocks done.......
and by the end of the day.................four blocks done ready to sew together.......this pattern was a free download from Vanessa at V&Co (Dutchman Puzzle if you are looking for it on her blog)
I have to admit Sunday I was out all day so the blocks are still waiting to be sewn together and even though I sewed all day today it was mostly for my online group's Christmas swap so I can't show today's efforts......oh....maybe just a sneak peek then.....
So that's about it for now...back to work tomorrow - another big week ahead........looking forward to the Christmas break.....but of course before Christmas is the Festival of Loz!! Yikes........and it's a "big one" this year!!
'Til next time..................................Lorraine

lovely blocks Lo ,love your sneak peek.xx
Great looking blocks there Loz. You're a master sewist - I wouldn't even attempt all those small bits.
It must be fabulous having everyone back in the same place.
Great blocks, lovely use of colour. My sewing room is in a state too, must be all that Christmas sewing. Nice sneak peek.
Is the block lock just for trimming half square triangles? I like your solid coloured triangles, they look good. My sewing room is in a state of upheaval as well, but mess is creative!
I really like the effect of those plain triangled blocks in slightly different tones, it's very effective. Emjoy all the festive busyness!
Love your Dutchman's Puzzle blocks - they are fabulous! And the present you are making looks very interesting - gorgeous fabrics.
Oh I know exactly what your sneak peak is :o) I many have just made a few of that item also :o) hugs
The blocks are fabulous....love it! Nice to have him home....last year must now seem so very long ago!
I am SO impressed all I have is an untidy sewing room.
Having your kids near is wonderful!
Love the new blocks. I bought a set of those Block Loc trimmers but need to watch a video to maximize their use!
