Ready, set..........

Sew...........................Today I have been playing in the sewing room....because I can get into it now after I spent a couple of hours doing some speed tidying yesterday morning ....The girls were coming to sew and I had to get the machine off the table and back into the sewing room...................

but I should start with pics from the NTFW girls visit yesterday.......I think it was the first time in ages that everyone could make it and we also had Kris and two of her daughters with us as well...hoping Kris will be a regular now she is back in SA......after doing a quick count of available chairs (and realising I was about six short) I made an emergency call to the local hire place for a table and some chairs.......crisis averted.............

As usual it was a fun day......you may have read on Shay's blog that her cat peed in her handbag......yesterday we got  the description of how she found out said cat had peed in her bag.....it wasn't pretty!!   It is said that laughter is good for you, and after yesterday I can vouch for that.....thanks girls!!  Haven't laughed so much for ages...... Some show and tell....I do wish Claire would lighten up, she is soooooooooo serious....

Some little people for some little people.....by Picklesticks......very cute!!!

Tazzie has started another project.....after quilting until her fingers bled to finish her last prize winning effort in time for the show........

Kay is still working on her Farmers Wife blocks.....but I think she got caught up in Shay's cat pee story and lost concentration...

A rare serious moment for Shay........

.......who seconds before had facilitated the escape of a Tiny Teddy biscuit from the bowl.....

.
..because she spat on it we made her eat it!

Val bought back my Surrounded quilt ..love it!!!.....binding to be sewn on and stitched down, but it may have to wait until I get some Christmas stitching done...the days are flying by and weekends will be busy - might be a job for the Christmas break.

Even though Summer is almost upon us the nights have been really cold lately, so the quilt is now on my bed ...and it will be fine that way until I get around to sewing the binding on.....one day.........

a close up of the quilting.........

and on the back......

I was up early this morning to play.......not only in the sewing room, but with my camera......the light was beautiful this morning......

A visit from Cheryl this afternoon helped me with a dilemma.....I had spent ages trying to work out what to make the girls in my NTNTFW (Not the Not the Farmers Wife) group for Christmas and now I know.....so some cutting and stitching and still more cutting has me thinking I may even get these gifts finished in time for our Christmas gtg in a couple of weeks.

Time now for some boring housework stuff and getting organised for the working week.....weekends go way too fast!

'Til next time.........................Lorraine

Fun show and tell! Glad the tiny teddy didn't escape, Rose would have been confused! Love your quilt, nothing nicer then a two coloured quilt and the quilting is fabulous. You are very dedicated to do the Christmas stitching first, I am putting mine off to the very last minute!

Sounds like you had a great day of stitching and laughing. Your new quilt is gorgeous, love the simplicity of the two tones.

The applique quilt with all the leaves and birds is a beauty.
