A whole lot of binding going on.......

.........and to be honest, not a lot else!  A long weekend here which has been great......I decided I needed an excuse to sit and watch a couple of things on TV yesterday, so the blue and white quilt (which has had the binding sewn on for the last couple of months) became that excuse and the binding is now on and the quilt has been washed and is ready to be put on my bed once the weather cools down a bit.  I love a freshly laundered and line dried quilt.  Same with sun dried sheets....just love to crawl into bed with fresh sheets...mm..mmmm.....

Not much housework was done this weekend  - that will wait until the "kids" go back to school and uni tomorrow ....because....I am on holidays!  Two lovely weeks.....yay!!  I have lots planned for the next couple of weeks mostly around the sewing room and projects I have prepped and want to make a start on.  So watch this space!

Speaking of projects being prepped, I found this almost finished Gail Pan project languishing in the cupboard the other day...it is a table mat started at a workshop in Port Pirie a couple of years ago.....so it now has some quilting on it and the binding is sewn down ready to be hand stitched......I wasn't sure how to quilt it so just went with some straight lines........

Also in the binding pile for tonight are a couple more pot holders - these are pretty bright so not sure if they will be gifted or kept for me to use......

I have loads of stitchery projects prepped and have been working on this one on and off for the past week or so......finished it at around midnight last night.....nice to be able to sit up too late stitching knowing you can sleep in the next morning.......

So that's about it for me for now.......so......

'Til next time....................Lorraine

Fresh sheets and lovely quilts are two of my favourite things too... there is nothing like sliding between the sheets of a freshly made bed. Bliss!

Two weeks of glorious holidays. How much fun are you going to get up to! Seems like you’ve made a productive start with all that binding done and the other projects that have made it out of the cupboard and onto the to do list. I seriously love that blue and white quilt.

Enjoy your work break!

So many things. I love pretty pot holders shame they don't stay that way here. I have even set some of mine alight. Have a wonderful 2 weeks holiday.

Enjoy your holidays, but we expect progress pictures of sewing! Stitchery looks great, although you must have great glasses as my eyes fail after 7 pm, let alone midnight! I admit to buying old crochet patterns just for the hilarious photos of outrageous outfits (I don't knit or crochet) but really, woollen underwear, how awfully itchy and saggy would that have been!
