.....and back again.....

Time really flies when you are having fun - this time last week I was on my way to Port Campbell for a stitching weekend - the weekend came and went in the blink of an eye it seems and by Monday night I was home again.  The days since have been spent unpacking, doing laundry and catching up on boring household chores.....and in the garden getting rid of the weeds that just seem to spring up overnight!  I am not a gardener, but it is satisfying to see the results of a few hours spent in the garden.  That will do me now for a while!

Linda really knows how to throw a stitching retreat!  everything one could wish for for a weekend of stitching.....food, shopping, great company - and the view from the venue (Port Campbell SLC) was just amazing......

Lunch day one.....roast turkey (or beef) with roast vegies and a choice of three desserts! Just perfect!

As there were no tutors everyone bought along their own projects to work on .......

...and those projects were many and varied.....

Jeanette working on her Rosalie Quinlan BOM.....

Sharon's stitchery and applique .....

Sue was working on these dolls for her grand daughter......

Shelby finished this top on Saturday and went on to the Gail Pan stitchery project on Sunday.....she was a machine......and she is 12!! (btw the bag the stitchery was made for was finished by Sunday afternoon.....)

Laraine was working on some exquisite embroidery.....

Me?  I worked on some Natalie Bird stitcheries......and socialised!

The view changed with the weather....which was sunny then showery then back to sunny....I love the sea - and since I live nowhere near it I can never get enough of it when I visit....

Surf lessons  for juniors on Sunday morning......the water was freezing so I was impressed they were so keen......

Prudence paid us a visit on Sunday........I never tire of seeing this masterpiece......

Linda also bought along her current hexagon work of art.......which is going to be just as amazing as it's cousin!  this is a section of the BACK of the work.....I won't show it in it's entirety as it isn't my story to tell, suffice to say I am looking forward to the big reveal when it's finished!

Always plenty to tempt in the pop-up shop..... gotta love Jodie's patterns....

..and yummy wool....

That's about it for now.......only a few days of my holidays left before I go back to work so some time in the sewing room is called for I think.

'til next time....................Lorraine
