Sometimes it's the simple things......

Life rolls on (pretty quickly really) and sometimes it seems pretty un-exciting, but that's ok with me - I am enjoying Autumn and her weather has been fantastic! We have had warm days and cool nights and it's no hardship to get up for that early morning walk when the weather is positively balmy!  Gardens are awash with colour and leaves crunch underfoot....it really is a great time of year!

Time seems to have really gotten away from me over the past couple of weeks and I started this blog post last Sunday......meaning to finish it during the week....well, that obviously didn't happen!  Last weekend was mostly spent at home catching up on some housework and changing some furniture around (the bits I can move on my own anyway!) Pretty satisfying really....I didn't get into the sewing room to tidy it though so that was this weekend's job!

Sometimes it really is the simple things that make me smile......like the sun's rays coming in on a freshly cleaned floor........and much earlier in the day due to the leaves being gone from the tree outside the window.....

daisies from the garden......

...and teeny tiny bunting.....

a batch of scones fresh from the oven.......

for afternoon tea with new/old friends......

Deb and Nic were here for the weekend from New Zealand to attend a stitching retreat and I caught up with them for dinner on Friday evening......then again this afternoon on their way back to the motel after their second day of stitching. I have been friends with Deb on FB for quite a while and it was great to catch up IRL...and lovely to meet Nic.

As you can probably see not much stitching has been going on ......I had a lovely day in the sewing room today tidying and reacquainting myself with projects and "stuff"......almost as rewarding as actually stitching!  This project has been languishing in the "almost finished....just needs....." pile for a while and I think the reason is that the pattern called for a gazillion flying geese to surround the log cabin blocks as a border....never.going.to.happen!!

So I think I will put a "peeper" border of the green (used in the centre of the blocks) and a black/white border and call it done ......I quite like the blue fabrics in this top so was happy to find quite a bit of each in the box with the quilt top......for another "one day" project......

we have been treated to some beautiful sunrises and sunsets lately so I will leave you with a couple of pics from a sunset during the week.

'Til next time....................Lorraine

Always love your photos, Lorraine! You sound content at the moment and that is a very fine state to be in! The tiny bunting is cute and I really like your log cabin quilt's colors. Enjoy!

I love this time of year, but even more so when the min temperature is so high! Still doesn't entice me out of bed to go walking though!

Oooh I love the lurking project - and as for a bajillion geese - who needs that? Whatever you decide to do -I just know it's going to look fantastic.

I was hoping to catch up with Deb but honestly life has just been INSANE the last month. I barely have time to scratch myself. Looks like you had a lovely time though.

It is the little things that may life fun.
