Looooooong weekend!

Apropos to my previous post about my attention span.......I have discovered the up-side of a short attention span is one never gets bored!  Always something new to do.....

I took the opportunity to have a RDO from work on Friday which gave me a lovely long weekend...instead of sleeping in and "wasting" half the morning I got up at my usual time and took Rose for a walk....came home and filled the day in with loads of stuff....housework, shopping (for food - nothing exciting....), prepping some stitching for a couple of stitchy days with the girls....cooked a few meals....and by about 8 I was ready for bed (that's 8pm.....not am)  ....the upshot of the big day in the house meant it was all go for a weekend of stitching and socialising ....and .....well, not much else........although today I got up at my usual week day time again and went for a walk - it was only about 4C so it was a brisk walk - came home and cooked some breakfast and then had the whole day ahead of me ...I have even been out and weeded the front garden and it's only lunch time.....go me!

Saturday was the NTFW stitching get together.....Lorraine was dog-sitting this little charmer.....Mervyn!!  His table manners were impeccable!

Yesterday was another stitchy day with friends and I worked on putting the next round on my Trip Around the World challenge.......I was tired last week and didn't do any stitching in the evenings.......so had some catching up to do.......I have chosen the fabric for the next rounds and should get them stitched on this week.....or even this afternoon while I watch the footy.......(the red isn't quite as bright as in the photo......)

Cheryl bought her latest auction find to show us yesterday......this little beauty is in fantastic condition, even the instruction booklets are perfect....very....very cute!!

Speaking of not being bored (which I think I was earlier in the post.....)......just in case I need a change from stitching 2" blocks on to the TAW I can always start on the applique for the next Gossip in the Garden block.....

 .
...or I could stitch some more of these...the bandwagon for making these hexi bags was far off in the distance by the time I sorted myself out and decided to make one.....so I choked back the dust, not even thinking about trying to jump on that disappearing wagon (because anyone who knows me knows that I do not run.....) and got started.....although deciding on colours was (as is usual for me)....difficult! ......I cut out enough hexis to make about ten of these bags because I couldn't decide on fabrics so in the end I just grabbed some and started stitching.... enjoyed it so much I stayed up until 2.30am.......may have to have an early night tonight as it's back to work tomorrow!

So between prepping, stitching, catching up with friends, house working, walking, gardening and playing the odd game of Words with Friends (ok you have me there.....I have a few games going.....) it's been a great weekend......

Oh, in case you are looking for something to do in September.......this looks like fun!

'Til next time..................Lorraine

I'd have to agree with Chooky......sounds perfect. Especially with the boring household jobs done out of the way. I am a WWF tragic too if you need another game.
