What goes on at retreat.......

...usually stays on retreat...but I thought I would bring this home with me to finish...

What a great weekend.....I set off on Friday afternoon for Mannum, about an hour's drive from here and once there I settled in for happy hour with my fellow retreaters and Sharon from Patchwork on Parade....she and Barb looked after us all weekend so we could just sit and sew....and eat.....and chat......well, you know how it goes!

Saturday morning I was up and checking out the pre-dawn view over the river....so quiet and peaceful......

The ferry busy with early morning passengers.....

Plenty of bird life in the sanctuary....

Anglers still in bed with rods in the water ....waiting....waiting.....

 ..and here comes the sun.....

Then it was back into the bunkhouse for breakfast and to make a start on the day's stitching....too early for anyone else to be stitching.......

Couldn't work out if this was breakfast or the remnants of last night's dinner......

pretty soon most people were up and into it......

I worked on my flowering snowball blocks......

....and by then it was morning tea time.....

This was my room for the weekend......not the tidiest bed making....but who has time for precision when there is stitching to be done!?

I had a very productive weekend, the flowering snowball blocks at the beginning of this post and another version of a great pattern from Kathy Schmitz - My Little Stitches ....version one shown here.....I had completed the stitcheries so it was just a matter of putting the blocks together.

Some show and tell completed the weekend.....

..and just time for a group shot before we all headed off in our different directions.....

Great time.....great fun.......and productive!

On the way home I had a chance to drop in to see John and Jan and check out their little shop in Mount Pleasant....if you get the chance, do visit them....Star Books and the Bohemian Garden - lots of lovely things to look at!

so that's it from me for now......'til next time............Lorraine

Love your flowering snowball, were you just using scraps? It always looks so effective. Cute little stitcheries too, so much detail. Always good to have a weekend away stitching.

Well - weren't you a busy bee! Lovely pics, Loz. Your flowering snowball is gorgeous and the stitcheries project looks great too. And I'd love to visit that shop sometime; it looks so tempting. Have a great week, Loz.

Looks like a productive retreat for everyone. Love the show and tell, I've made the French General quilt shown. It still needs to be quilted.

How lovely, I have never been on a retreat. I'd certainly get plenty of sewing done, as well as chatting and eating!

Loved the flowering snowballs--such a fun way to show off lots of small prints. Looks like you once again enjoyed plenty of stitching time with friends. The quilt top with the stitchery looks wonderful. I know you'll enjoy seeing both tops turned into quilts!
