Road trip!

Late last week I loaded the car with way too much stuff and headed off for the six and a half hour drive to visit my Mum....always good to see her and to spend some time in the little town she calls home - and being by the sea is always a treat! Sunrise over the water is always special....

Rose made the trip with me...sleeping most of the way and just checking every now and then to see if we had arrived at our destination....once we were there she very quickly became a beach dog....loving the seaweed in particular....

Now that we are home again she is snoring on the lounge...all that sea air and running after sea birds was tiring!

Rhiannon and Wade also made the trip and joined me for the weekend.....we discovered a great place for breakfast ...if you are in Tumby Bay be sure to check out Alive and Well....

A hearty breakfast was followed by some sight seeing and another beach to explore....

Met an amazing lady who swims every morning rain, hail or shine...84 years young...it was pretty cold this morning as she headed into the waves....

So my little holiday is over and it's back home and back to work tomorrow. I packed a load of stitching to take - didn't sew a stitch....packed a case full of clothes - wore only a few of them - walked a lot, ate well, caught up with friends and family, found time to visit a few patchwork shops...took a couple of drives to check out childhood haunts....(how much smaller everything looks now) - enjoyed time with Rhiannon and Wade...and of course enjoyed time with Mum! ...and in the evenings....a few games of Scrabble!

Time to sign off for now....a few more pics next time!

According to Stanford Medical, It is indeed the one and ONLY reason women in this country live 10 years longer and weigh 19 KG lighter than us.

(And really, it really has NOTHING to do with genetics or some secret diet and EVERYTHING about "how" they are eating.)

P.S, What I said is "HOW", not "WHAT"...
