December.......the Festival ...and Christmas....

Gosh that was a blur!  The lead up to Christmas is always busy but this year it seemed busier.....a dozen or more lists were made - things were crossed off...some things were probably missed, but in the end everything came together on the day and a wonderful family day was had!

But before Christmas was (as always) the Festival of Loz - I don't think I took any pics this year - too busy just enjoying the day(s) - family and friends gathered for a meal here and there were numerous lunches with work mates during the festivities!  There were birthday gifts received.....

and Christmas gifts finished and sent........these were off to a friend in the UK.......

Secret Santa gifts ready to be posted to Lynda in the online stitching group....I

Some finishes from the sewing room.....Matilda's quilt made for a friend to send to the UK....

Finally got around to making up a kit I bought from Ruby and Kate during a visit to  Port Lincoln a few months ago....

A Gail Pan pattern for a friend who is a cross stitcher.....and up until now has been keeping her needles in the arm of the lounge.....so this little arm chair caddy should help with that!

......and a set of place mats made the day before they were gifted on Christmas Eve....because sleep is over rated anyway! ...something to read while you eat?

So looking at the finishes I haven't been idle during December!  some Christmas decorations came out in early December .......at work and at home.....

the theme for office decorating this year was "an Australian Christmas" ...this of course meant I put out my usual decorations and added a flag or two......the bird seems impressed anyway!

and at home......Rose satisfied (and a bit tired) with her efforts of helping with the tree.....

.....a stick tree decorated with some lights and bling......

a couple of the small trees around the house.....

of course there was a cake to be made.......and I love the smell of fruit that has been languishing in brandy for a while.......!  I was very pleased with the cake this year....I think it was one of my best.....in my most humble opinion of course!  I have been very remiss with photos lately.....not even one of the finished cake!

I did take this one of the cinnamon scrolls fresh out of the oven on Christmas morning......

Of course the cameras came out to record this little man's first Christmas morning......Lenny was the star of the show....

I love this one......

I will leave you with good wishes for the year ahead - may 2017 be everything you want it to be.

'til next time....................Lorraine
