A stitching day with the girls.....

Today was the first of our stitching get-togethers for the year and it was my turn to host......I wasn't sure what to make for lunch so turned to Taste.com  for some inspo......

Beetroot and Sweet Potato Burgers with a little Greek yoghurt to garnish.....with Cauliflower Poppers on the side.......not the greatest pic but it was delicious and I can see more of these being made.....perfect to prep during the day and pop in the oven for an evening meal....the beetroot is grated and cooked with onion before mixing with quinoa to make the burger patties.. a nice vegetarian option.....

For dessert I found the recipe for little lime puddings....light and quick to prepare and cook.....perfect little "after" dish.....

The girls were busy during the afternoon....Cheryl working on a little glasses or "whatever you like to use it for" case....her red and white dots coordinating with the coffee mug...

Joyce was putting colourful stitches on this piece....

Linda belongs to a craft group and has volunteered to crochet edges on squares knitted by another member of the group....the squares will become rugs donated to charities for distribution....

....between courses I worked on another Gail Pan stitchery  ..this is the Dream/Create Sewing Pouch and Pincushion pattern.....

...and because I think I have way more time to stitch than I actually have I have traced off all the stitcheries from Kathy Schmitz's My Little Garden and My Little Year....I purchased these patterns from Craftsy.... here

well, at least I won't ever get bored!!

Last weekend I spent Sunday afternoon in the sewing room and this little guy was the result....still a couple of borders to put on, but pretty happy with him so far.  He is a part of a pattern from Sassafras Designs....Zoey's Zoo...there are also patterns included for a lion, bear and fox......

Rose is letting me know it's her dinner time........better go and feed her before she fades away.....:)

'til next time..................Lorraine
